Hello. I was actually in your shoes not too long ago, searching for a company with little or no start up costs. I did find two companies that I have just recently joined with as a consultant and both do seem really promising. Please feel free to browse my sites at your convenience and if you have any questions, I'd be happy to help.
1. Down the Trodden Path--products not only include soy candles and melts, but wax critters and baskets with more to come. For a limited time it is free to join as a consultant with no minimums. www.mytroddenpath.com/store/go.asp?nC=215 (http://www.mytroddenpath.com/store/go.asp?nC=215)
2. Creative ScentSations--products are gourmet country candles and accesories. It is also free to join as a consultant with no minimums.

Best wishes to you with your search!

<a href="http://www/Scentsy.com/LA" target="_blank">
http://www/Scentsy.com/LA</a>
Scentsy starter kit is $99. It includes
An electric warmer
Candle Bar
Car Candle
Room Spray
Catalogs
Paperwork
3 Months webhosting of your replicated site
Biz Cards
80 large size party testers of each of our scents.
We only sell wickless candles - so they are safe to use as night lights in children's rooms - they're free of toxins released when candles are burned and are intensely frangranced = stronger scented any other waxes.

Hi Pooh!
I mentioned this in another of your threads, but I'll say it here as well.
There are so many more factors than just start-up price that you should take into consideration when starting a home-based business.
I completely understand you don't want to do into debt to get started, but you really need to consider the quality of the product you are representing. It needs to be a product you are PROUD to share with others. Not just a product you can sell cheaply to others.
Please take the time to request samples and even purchase full-sized candles from different companies. Compare the scent quality, scent-throw, burn time (cost per hour of use), wastage (does the candle burn evenly or do you waste 25% of the wax?), smoke and soot (do you want your family breathing in that black stuff??), etc.
Examine the compensation plans of each company. Is it difficult to understand? Do you earn less than 25%?How many levels can you earn from? Is the company stable and are they growing every month?
Take you time and make the right decision for YOU. If you don't believe in the product and the company, you willinvest money and time that will be lost forever.
Best of luck,
Vicki
