I have a client that has eczema on her hands really bad. She was taking steriods for it but now she is pregnant so she had to stop them. Back in March she bought the Corticure cream because I thought it might help with the itchy hands from the eczema, well it didn't. She said that they still itched. So what do you all recommend for her? I mean her hands are really bad, they are red,raw and sometimes bleeding.
Thanks for the help!!

Iput E.R.Hand Lotion on my son's eczema... but be sure to tell her to wear sunscreen....because of the Alap Hydroxy Acid...if nothing else just giveher the 1oz size and see if it works for her.... but it does wonders for my son...hope this helps...

I have heard that soaking in the bath minerals helps with the itch, but it sounds like she also needs something specific for the hands...

I use the Luxuries of the Sea Skin Balm on my daughter in between flair ups. That is the problem. Sounds like she should use Lanacane anti-itch medication or a steriod/cortizone combination to get it back under control.
We have gone thru all of these products with our daughter. She has really bad flair ups too.
Once she gets it back under control, Corticure should help. The Skin Balm also helps keep the skin nicely hydrated and keep flair ups at a minimum.

I also use the ER hand lotion on my son's exzema. I also use the TDS Olive Body Butter. I am sure I heard that if she doesn't have any open sores, the SOH would also help.

I suffer with eczema, and when it is under control I use the Corticure as a prevention when I sense that I am on the verge of a flair. However, when my eczema is bad, like the symptoms your client is experiencing, the only thing that brings it under controlis a prescription from my dermatologist. She should probably speak with a specialist who would be able to prescribe something that would be considered safe/effective to use during pregnancy. If she does not get it under control, especially since it is open and bleeding, she runs the risk of getting a secondary infection. Many times when an adult has eczema onhis or herhands, it can indicate that the individual has some form of contact dermatitis which means that their eczema is a response to something they are coming into contact with. For example, detergents, soaps, cosmetics, lotions etc. So, while I believe that the Corticure is an exceptional product, I would be leary of having her try many different kinds of products until she speaks to herdermatologist, gynecologist, allergy specialist etc. Which she very well may have.
Theseare some techniqes that have worked for me when I have a flair on my hands or body- always wear gloves when in the shower (in contact with soaps), washing dishes, cleaning, changing diapers, anything to keephands from coming into contact with hot water and chemicals. Wash hands with cool water and takeluke warm showers that last less than5 minutes.Constantly moisturize with a dermatologist recommended moisturizer specificallydesigned for eczema. Be dilligent even when not experiencing a flair. Figure out if there is something dietary that could be causing problems. I also have a dermatologist who I see when necessary.
Hope this helps!Edited by: beautigal

I heard the Red Thermal Del Sol Butter Balm is excellent for Eczema. Also, I have a recruit that simply used the Show of hands on a cancer patient because her skin was so raw, red, and burning from the chemo and she cried after using it because it felt so good!!!

If you go to beautinet and click on product center and then "we have answers" under the FAQs tab, there is a section called skin disorder questions. If you scroll down, there is an entire list of products recommended for eczema. Good luck!

Hello-
From BeautiNet under Product Information FAQ's, here is the information for eczema. Hope this helps!
Eczema is a skin condition that results in very dry and itchy skin. This can result in scratching which can irritate the skin and complicate the problem.
A person with eczema can use any product as long the skin is not broken or irritated. I would avoid products that contain alcohol or those such as the Regeneration Chemical Peel. As long as the skin is not broken or irritated, you may find that the MicrodermAbrasion would help to alleviate the dry surface skin cells that cause itching.
The key to treating this condition is to keeping the skin moisturized. Some products that I would recommend would include:

Regeneration Extreme Repair for face and body - this is a great moisturizer containing ingredients that help to thicken the skin tissue to better retain hydration.

Regeneration Extreme Repair hand therapy - forms a great moisture lock on the hands to keep skin hydrated

Show of Hands Instant manicure- a great way to moisturize the hands that are void of hydration. Use Extreme Repair hand therapy afterwards to lock in moisture

Therma Del Sol Olive Butter Balm - probably the best body moisturizer that we have for extremely dry skin. very comforting for skin irritations as well

Therma Del Sol Detoxifying Bath Soak - great moisturizing benefits as well as helping to relieve irritated skin.

SPA mineral bath - very good for relieving itchy skin

A basic skin care regimen such as Skin Equations that has fewer ingredients

Corticure Comfort Lotion - to relive itching and irritation

Herbal Serenity Body Oil or Brown Sugar Body Oil - used in the shower to lock in moisture prior to towel drying
[/list]
