I'm a former night auditor for several hotels. I've recently been seeing ads for mystery shoppers for hotels, but these look like scams to me.
Does anybody know of any legitimate shopping companies that work with hotels and motels?

Best mark, A Closer Look, and I believe Freeman do them. If you go to the Volition list of companies, they tell you the types of shops that the companies specialize in.

I did a hotel shop for Data Quest ( http://dataquestonline.com/ ). Reimbursement for hotel stay, room service (required), meal at the hotel restaurant (required), reimbursement for cash tips and a fee.
I was very pleased. I took my laptop with to the hotel and filled out my shop report as much as possible as each event transpired so it was really easy. And even though it was just here in my town, it was still a nice mini-vacation for us.

Very cool! Nice job perk, getting paid for amini vacation! Maybe next time you can get a massage or spa treatment too!
