Just curious: I have someone on my team who signed on to sell with another company. So she is active with two direct sales companies. They are both in the same line of business. If she's doing a party, she'll mention that she also sells this other stuff. She does book for the opposite of what shes presenting. Also, she's given out her catalogs to consultants on my team. I don't really know her intentions. I'm just curious if you've seen this before and what your thoughts are/experiences have been.

THanks.

ummm... very unuseual smileys/smiley24.gifis that what she is doing against your company policy or any rules? I know most direct sales companies don't allow reps. to do so.

Anyway, I kind feel she is trying to crossing recruiting from your team, once she build up her biz with other company, she might just quit your company. Just my $0.02.

i would check to see corporate policy. That's odd
that the companies are so similar. i have two but
they are completely different. I may mention that i
own two businesses but i won't say what unless
someone asks at a show.

i have given catalogs to others on my directors team
that has asked about my other business. however i
don't throw them on people! lol

good luck with the situation. ask her what her goals
are! maybe that would help.

I am 99% sure that with Country Bunny you can not be a rep for a
competing company at the same time as being a CB rep. I know you
can't rep for ANY additional companies once you promote.

I'd bet that is roughly the same rules for your biz too. I would
tell the girl that perhaps she should pick the company she feels
strongest for and really focus on building a biz with that one (yours
or not).smileys/smiley2.gif

Yup, I agree with Tammy! Most companies have a non compete cluse of some sort. She may be in vilolation with one or both of the companies.

She needs to choose and Focus on one to grow her biz without cross promoting... Also a big no-no in most companies. just tacky in my opinion!

I sell for 2 semi-similar companies (they are both geared toward familes and children), but I would NEVER NEVER mention the other one when I am doing a party. If someone at the party happens to know that I also sell for the other company and she asks a question or something, I try to be brief and discreet and steer any "general" conversation away from the other company.

I agree with the others in that she may be violating her agreement with
one or both of the companies. I also think that she is being very
unethical by doing a presentation for one company and then also
promoting the other at the same show. Interesting comment on
cross recruiting, that could be too that she is trying to steal
recruits from your company for her new one and then will quit
yours.

I'd definitely talk to her about what she is doing and point out that
she signed a contract with your company and may be in possible
violation which can</span> be
serious. It would be such a shame if she recruited your other
team members and then quit your company. Plus, she is not loyal to your
company, do you really want someone on your team like that? I'd
keep an eye on this one.

I agree. And think of this from the hostess's perspective. If she's a holding a party with Company A, it doesn't help her at all if the rep is taking bookings for Company B while the rep is at her house. I think I'd be very upset! When I host a show I want to maximize my hostess benefits, and if the rep was soliciting bookings for another company, for which I couldn't receive any credit, I might be a little upset. I wonder if she's run into a situation like this yet.
