View Full Version : How do you get your recruit to qualify?

I always struggle when telling my new recruits about the 55% discount offer. I do tell them about it but I always get a look that says 'Why would I do that?' I know it's a great deal and all, but I also know that most people don't have that extra $ laying around to purchase more product.
I'm sure this has been asked many times but I am curious how to get a qualifying recruit! TIA

I recruited 9 during the last promotion and only one qualified. The difference for me was that my director coached me before the last one (the one that qualified)...she said that rather than explaining everything, as I was doing, I should just ask one question: "Would you be interested in getting $275 more in free products?" and then WAIT for them to ask. Wish I would have done that starting with my first recruit...it really made a difference for me!

I'm so excited! I just signed up a hostess from last weekend and she purchased the Family and Friends set! I didn't sway her one way or the other...she just wanted a great deal! That feels so good! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif And, I am back to Unit VIP, which is awesome!
Debbie, I am going to try your director's strategy next time...so simple, who wouldn't want it? Thank you!

I've recruited 6 this month and I've only gotten 1 to qualify. Out of those 6, only 2 of them are actively wanting to pursue this as a business. The other 4 are joining for personal use. The 2 that are doing this as a business don't have the money to qualify in their first 48 hrs. It's frustrating! Now they have to place a $1,000 order. I'm hoping they will get orders to take to Beauti U!

maybe you can help them out with hosting their welcome spa and they can use those orders to purchase at beautiu

Now that the BeautiU ordering opportunity has changed, I don't really understand it. I'm in Canada, so I'm going to use CAN currency here but when they sign up, they can purchase the Family & Friends set for $750 (with 55% off that) but at training, they can make a $900 order to get a 50% discount. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't an $800 enough to get the 50% discount? Or is there some extra stuff in there somewhere that I'm just not understanding? And if that's just a regular $900 order, then the best ordering opportunity has to be $1500 to get the 55% discount. So that is quite hard to do.
The way I am seeing it, the sign up deal is the best option for anyone who can afford it, right? Because it's even harder to double that amount at training. For me, it's such a tough 'sale'.
Sorry, I've even confused myself with this post. lol I hope someone can understand what I'm trying to get at here. lol

I recruited 8 in the promotion and qualified 6. I stress what a good deal it is. They are purchasing graduation, birthday, wedding, etc, gifts that they are going to buy anyway, but they're buying them all at once now, at tremendous savings. These gifts come with an extra gift for them: reorders!, without ever having to do a spa. Then they can get $275 of product for themselves, things that don't come in the BeautiCase or products they will run out of within the next 4 months, FREE! I let them know that it's a discount that even I don't get and I would be doing them a disservice if I didn't at least share it with them!
If they can't afford the whole $500 ($225) order themselves, I let them use the $100 for $45 coupon. They can give these out to 5 of their friends and collect orders. Who wouldn't want to take that offer?? Or they can give 4 of them out and use the 5th one themselves, again to get things that don't come in the BeautiCase or to stock up on products they will run out of within the next 4 months. I give them a spa express mini and/or an SOH that they can use to share and collect orders on those items.

I think I'm going to try some of your ideas next time I recruit. My last two weren't interested in the F&F set but it may have been how I presented it. I remember at BeautiU a lot of consultants said they weren't given the opportunity to order it and in one case I know that wasn't true, it was just presented differently at BeautiU.
Coral - the $900, $1500 or $3000 orders they place at training get them the 50% discount for 60 days after training. That's what I did and it was so good to not have to order $800 all the time.

Sorry, just to clarify, if they purchase the $900 at BeautiU, it is $900 worth of product, not like the F&F set where it's actually more then $750, right?
I have trouble knowing what all is included with their new fliers...it confuses me. lol

they can get the FF package or a custom order as long as it is $900 or more at beautiU.
if they don;t order at BU then they can still order as they go. the ONLY MAIN difference when ordering at BU is that you get 60 days of 50% discount regardless of order size. if you don't order at beautiU then you get the discount of your order size only.

OK, sorry, one more question...well, a bunch together. ;)
They can get the F&F set at BeautiU also? Or is that different? Because on my form it says a $900 order and I don't see anywhere that it mentions the F&F set for $750. Or are they calling the $900 order a F&F set?
Sorry to ask so many questions, especially when I thought I knew the answers. lol

If someone ends up ordering $1,000 worth of product in her first 90 days, although not the FF set or BeautiU,does shequalify? Or is it only those two purchasing opportunities that can qualify her?

A new recruit can qualify in 3 ways (and this is in US $$)
1. Place a $500 retail order within 48 hours of signing (F&F or custom)
2. They can place a $1,000 order or more at BeautiU (Prepackaged Set or custom)
3. They place a total of $1,000 retail orders within the 90 period of signing up
Coral, to answer your question, the prepackaged Friends and Family set is only available within the 48 hours of your new recruit signing up.
BeautiU offers 3 ordering opportunities (in US$$)
1. $600 (Prepackaged Set or custom order, 50% off and 50% for the next 60 days) Does Not Qualify unless they place another $400 witin their 90 day period
2. $1,000 (Prepackaged Set or custom order, 55% off and 50% for the next 60 days if order is under $1,000 and 55% if order is over $1,000) This will qualify
3. $2,000 (2 Prepackaged Sets or custom order, 55% off and 50% for the next 60 days if order is under $1,000 and 55% if order is over $1,000) This will qualify
Not to confuse anyone, but I do have some recruits that want to place orders at BeautiU that fall way under the $600. BeautiU will accept any order and issue the appropriate discount level.

Don't forget that if they do the $1000 retail order at BU, they ALSO get the 50% discount for 60 days which is awesome for people who are just starting out and recruiting isa little scary.
I really stress at signup getting the 5 friends to pick out $100 retail of products and pay only $45 plus S&H and tax. They always have friends that couldn't come to the spa but want to "look at the book" anyway. Plus, when the other ladies at the spa hear about $100 for $45, they want in on the action as well. Usually your sales at the spa won't be that high if they do this but it is worth it in the long run. I qualified enough and earned the Cabo trip (was AWESOME!) andam 2 points away from South Beach so this does work.

Oops! Kari already mentioned the 50% off for 60 days. I meant to say that they also give you deferred billing with the $1000 order which REALLY helps if they are just starting out.
Sorry, Kari!!

Thanks for all the helpful tips you guys! I'm having to do some backtracking here, but I'm really trying to get my girls to qualify at Beauti U now. I wish more than ever that I could have known better ways to get them to qualify in their first 48 hrs. Can't go back now, so I've got to move forward with ways to get them qualified at Beauti U.
I'm presenting them with the shopping spree for them and their friends and family. So far, I've contacted one of the six I recruited last month and she's going for it!

Now that the BeautiU ordering opportunity has changed, I don't really understand it. Hi, Boyz! I am not sure with the conversion rates, but here's how we explain it at training. With the $600 order, you get 50% off, and 50% off for 60 days. With the $1000 order, you are only spending $150 more, and you are getting 55% off this order, plus 50-55% offfor the next 60 days, depending on thesize of the order. PLUS you get deferred payment on the $1000 order, so you are paying less the day of training. In the US, you get a 50% discount on an $800 order, so I would assume it is higher for a CAN order, but I am not sure. Hope that helps, and doesn't make it more confusing! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley29.gif
In answer to your other question, the packages that you can get at BeautiU are actually valued at more than the price you pay. For example, in the US the $1000 order is like $1100 worth of products, I think. I have not added it back up since it changed, but I know it is more than what you pay, which makes it a better deal than the custom order. Edited by: mlbo

You know, I was in the same shoes as your new recruits. I didn't have the extra $$ in the first 48 hrs. I booked as many spa's that I could before going to BeautiU, and turned the orders in there (I had more than enough in sales to place my $1000 order). I did tell the guests what I was doing and why, they understood. I hope this helps.

OK, I have a question about the ordering opportunity within the first 48 hours of signing up. Is there a limit at the 55% discount of total retail of $500 or can they order more?
crazee4beauti

No, it is a 55% discount off the total as long as a minimum of $500 retail value is reached.
