I am considering applying to the South Dakota Women's Expo that is being held at the end of September. The details of this expo are below. Vendors are invited to participate, however they would like to have the booths interactive. I would really love to be able to attend this event with our fantastic candles and I am asking your help to try to brainstorm what I could do to have an interactive booth. I am also going to post my plea to the yahoo groups that I am a member of. As far as I can tell South Dakota is virtually untouched territory in regards to Scent-Sations/Mia Bella and I want to make a lasting impression.</font></font></span>Thanks in advance for any ideas you can put forth.</font></span>Julie</font>

Queanna,
Saw this post on the yahoogroups and I say that you have a great opportunity on your hands! I think that you could do great with a simmer pot doing the work for you as far as "interacting" goes. Of course you want to do a jar giveaway with so much traffic expected.
I wish you the best of luck!

Queanna,
Maybe if you have enough time before the show, you can make the votives roses, or wrap the bella bun in a tulle, tie it with a bow then put it on the iron skillet. I always get a lot interaction from customers because of the buns. Also like what Yolanda said, simmer pot will do the work as well.smileys/smiley20.gif

I am probably not much help here, but what about having people make their own scent samples to take with them? You could possibly have the scent already crushed and then they would just spoon it into the pre-labled baggies or if time permits, let them crush and then bag. I personally would just stick with the pre-crushed scent though. Just use one well loved scent. I hope this was helpful.

How about bringing a Mia Bella candle that has burned all the way down, to show how clean they burn. Then have one that is burned down with little chips out of it. Put these in the scent pot, to show how our candles can be used to the last drop!!! Also have a candle from our leading competitor, ( of course with there label covered) to show the comparison! That is a real eye opener.

HeHe,, I was thinking just having the people smell our amazing candles is interactive enough!!!smileys/smiley36.gif
I would definetly do a free jar giveaway. Perhaps a "guess the scent" game every hour, with the winner getting the scent in a votive?

Thank you all so much for the input. I will definately be using my simmer pot. And I think I will let people do their own scent sample if they wish. Another idea I received was to let them make lollipops, which I am considering. I will need to find a place to get some molds, but that would work well as long as I am using simmer pots. Of course I will have a free candle drawing, and if I had a laptop I could have the opportunity cd going also. There are so many possibilities here! On the reservation form I need to describe the demonstrations in detail. I really hope that I am accepted.
I have plenty of time to prepare for it since it is at the end of September. It will also be fall, so I will go with a fall theme. Booth size is 8 x 10. I will from now til then stock the top scents for fall.
Again, thanks everyone. If you have any more input please feel free to let me know you have been a great help already.
