Are there any products such as candles, or home interiors that you can sell online without having to host parties. I do not know a whole lot of people so that is why I'm asking?
Thanks

There are several companies that have online sales. I will move this to
the "WAHMs in party plans" folder so you can get more info from the
experts.<!--

Hi Jamie!
You ask a great question. And make sure you ask more to be sure that you're getting down to the heart of things. For instance, I'm with AtHome America. We do have the ability to do retail web, or online ordering. However, shipping rates are much higher with retail web and not everything in the catalog is shown on the web as we reserve inventories for HomeShows. Also, there are typically personal HomeShow minimum sales that must be met in order to get commission from the web orders. I guess the reason I even mentioned this to you is so that you know that even when a company says "yes we can do retail web sales" make sure you get the specifics about how it works for the customer and how you'll get paid for it. I know that there are companies out there who support web salesmuch more than AHA does. It all depends on the direction the company wants to go. AHA really wants to emphasize the social aspect ofwhat we do, and that's why they put priority on HomeShows.
Good luck to you in your search!

With White Lily Candles, you are more than welcome to just sell online. Hosting parties is an option that we have. If you would like more info on White Lily, please email me at CscentSationz@aol.com (CscentSationz@aol.com)

Country Bunny Bath and Body also allows you to sell online and you do
not have to have parties (although I do choose to do them because they
are fun!)
In fact, when you buy the starter kit ($89) you also get a webstore of
your own for a full year so people can go right to it and order from
YOU. :)
Does this sound like something you'd be interested in or are you looking more along the lines of home decor items?smileys/smiley1.gif

Yep, Stuff A Friend is great for selling online as well. You are more than welcome to only advertise online and sell online if you wish. You can also recruit online as well. I hope you find what you are looking for. If you have any questions drop me a PM. Best of luck to you!

thanks to all that responded. I will take a look at all our sites and see if anything fits me. If I knew more people I wouldn't mind doing parties but like I said my circle of aquaintances is small.
thanks again

don't forget too jamie, your friends may help you get started, but once you start doing parties you meet other people at them and get bookings and it grows! if we all only depended on friends, we'd be stuck!
So just keep that in mind, and get a good sponsor who can help you with tips to talking to others about your biz. good luck in your search

I wouldn't rule out a party plan business either. I've actually had a lot of luck and I've only booked 3 of my parties from people I know (my mom, my best friend and my neighbor). My business is growing, growing, growing! I've been really great at booking new hostesses at parties, and so my calendar is so busy I have to be careful not to overbook myself!
I actually got an email from someone who saw the card I left at Gymboree! And I leave catalogs everywhere I go: the doctor, my daugher's dance studio, etc. You might find you can get a lot of contacts that way!
Good luck with your decision!

Just a thought...doing parties certainly does introduce you to new people and you do get bookings from them. It might be a great way for you to get to know more people around you. I think that's one of the universal aspects of direct sales, no matter what company you're with or why you started, most people stick around for the relationships that come from the business. I thought that I was just at a stage in life where you just didn't make new friends. Then I started with AHA and I'm blessed with so many rich friendships. I love it!

Hi Jamie~
Welcome to WAHM~smileys/smiley17.gif It's nice to have you here~ You will find a wealth of resources, and support here!
We have some candles and room freshners along with a large variety of other products. We do not have to do home parties (party plan). We can promote any way we like, including online.
I did not like the idea of doing parties either. After getting more familiar with my biz, I did branch out into doing asome parties. We're not required, so if I just want to do even one party a year, I can. I have done out of state catalog parties with friends, and that was a blast! They ship everything to the host (even out of state).
All the same, the option is up to each individual associate. Some folks focus on one particular business venture, others use a combination of techniques to promote their biz~ We don't have the quotas, so we havetime to try different things to find our niche.
If you'd like more info, let me know (or check my sig line)~
Good luck in your searchsmileys/smiley17.gif, and remember to always ask LOTS of questions!

Hi Jamie
I am not much into home parties either. I sell Mia Bella Gourmet Candles and SilverWear. SilverWear I do online only. You get a website that is fully e-commerce and they handle all shipping for you. You just advertise your website and send people to it. My first day I made 50.00, I couldn't believe it. Now that was from someone I know though lol. If you would like more information on how you can become a Independent SilverWear Gift Consultant let me know. If you are interested in Mia Bella Gourmet Candles you can also pm or email. Heres my sites for you to check out.

Hi Jaime! I sell Pampered Chef and I do have a
website that people can buy directly from.
Find something that you are interested and then try
to get your name out there. I completely understand
that you don't have a largre circle of friends. I don't
either but my PC (and BYB) business has helped
me to get over my shyness and to talk to people I
don't know about my business. I joined PTA and I
started to do more with my daughter outside of our
home. It has been such a great experience and has
truly made me a better person.
Find out what you would like to sell because you
would be your best customer. When you love it , your
genuine love for the product will show through and
people will be exciting as well!
After you research and find your product/company all
of the party plan wahms will help you to reach your
goal!

Jamie - this is OT, but I noticed your username is Kaden04 - is that
your son's name? Reason I ask is my yougest son is 8 mos (1/05)
and his name is Caidensmileys/smiley1.gif.
Oh and welcome to the boards, and good luck finding the biz that's
right for you! There are a lot of great companies to choose from
that can be worked online. I'm not really a party person myself -
never even been to one, but I might be going to a Discovery Toys Party
tonight hehe.
Also, there are other options as far as companies that aren't party plan that you can do online as well.

Jamie,
I went to ONE supersale and got 5 bookings from that sale, (and I only sold ONE candle at the sale.) BUT, I got 5 bookings. Those five bookings have gotten me through September. I have about 15 parties this month - home or otherwise. My wholesale merchandise sent is going to be over $1500.00 this month. I did not count on my friends to book parties. They know I sell the products (Home Interiors) and one friend buys candles all the time but woudn't have a party. So, don't be discouraged because your circle of friends is small. That is okay because as my husband says, "if you are hungry, you are going to find the food" meaning that if you want a business to succeed, you will find the customers somewhere. Taking brochures to your doctor's office, dentist office, carrying them in your purse to the grocery store. Just sprinkling brochures throughout your city.
I have gotten involved in selling Home Interiors online. It is quite fun. I have two new friends who are having brochure parties in their own states. If you want more information on Home Interiors, please PM me. I would love to talk to you.
