This time last year, my hubby and I invested in a company called Sunshine Candle Corp. The concept is to buy large amt of candles in 6 different scents (I think it was a total of 1200). We then place them in stores and sell them on consignment.

Next, my hubby and I have no selling skills so we hired a company that was referred to us by Sunshine Candle Corp called The Norwood Group. Norwood (at a very expensive cost) got us a locator to come into our area and find us (based on contract) an XX amt of stores that would consign our candles.

In the contract with Norwood it stated that if stores do not perform well (they projected 3 candles per store "per day"...HA) they would replace the stores for another one at no cost. After the trial period NONE of the stores were performing well at all....Anywhere from 0-2 candles per store per "every 2 months". To make a long story short, we have been contacting Norwood since Jan to help us find more stores and to honor their end of the contract and as of today- NOTHING...they dont even return our calls now. I have filed complaint with FTC and waiting to hear from them.

This is mainly what I need help on the most. We have a large amt of candles left and I want to sell them all.We are ready to call it quits. Does anyone know of a website I can go to in order to sell large number of candles or someone that I can call?

I do realize that we are going to take a BIG loss on this investment, but we do not have time to worry about them anymore. We have about 8 stores that carries them and they barely make us enough to cover the monthly payment on the loan we took out to buy them.

Any advice on how we can sell them in bulk would be appreciated.

Thanks,

K

p.s. anyone else trying to sell candles this way - stay away from The Norwood Group. They took our money and they are not holding out on their end of the bargain. Stay away from The Sunshine Candle Group also...they won't even take our calls either.

Are you allowed to sell them via ebay? You can set up a store or just sell them individually. Our company does not allow this so make sure you are allowed to do this first.

I know you don't want to sell but can you just sell them to stores instead of consignment? Check out the small mom and pop stores. Sell them a doz at a time or something.

Try makinggift baskets up with themand do a craft show in your town.

Most companies wil buy back the merchandise less a restock fee - but I know they are avoiding you - check your contract with them and see if they are obligated to do this.

I'm sorry, I don't have any other ideas other than that. Good luck!

Hi Crazyk <grin> ~

You might be interested in learning how to sell them via fundraiser?

I am frantically working to get a support site up and running to show people how to do this ... it's getting closer, but not all the way useful just yet.

What if you could get your money out of the inventory AND help people who have specificprojects that need money too ? :) Would that be cool?

PM me if you'd like some one on one coaching on this idea, we'll have to look at your cost involved and such, but have faith, you don't have to take a beating on this!

Looking forward to helping you out of this bind :)
