View Full Version : Looking for a candle consultant

Hi!

I love PL candles! I do home tea parties for Tealightful Treasures, and I like to have some nice candles lite, and a pretty display around my tea and scones. People do comment on the nice candles, and accessories. I was wondering, I don't know anyone in my area that sells candles. I could get speratic orders for candles and such. How do I:

A) find a consultant in my area that would do an order here and there for some candles and such.

and

B) How do I approach them, as in I probably wouldn't do a party, but every once and a while have an order for them, and maybe have a few of their buisness cards on hand for people who want to find out more.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I am in Western NY

Hi Marisa, if you want to find a rep in your area, go to the company's website and they usually have a link to find area reps. Maybe that will work for you. As far as approaching them, call or e-mail and just let them know what you need, they will probably be more than happy. If there aren't any in your area, see if you can do online orders. I know with Bittersweet, I'm the only rep in northwest arkansas, but I can do online orders on my site. There are lots that take orders that way. Hope that helps!smileys/smiley2.gif

Hi!

I agree - go to the company website and see if there is a rep in your area. I know that I personally would have no problem doing that - just taking an order here and there (its how I pretty much run my business!)- and I would assume most others are the same way. You can always place orders online, too! (at least with my company, and most of the other companies I know of too...not sure about PL though...)

Best of luck!

HI Marissa,

I agree with the other girls about going to the companies website and looking for a rep in your area...or you can place orders online.

If you are looking for candles and such for your business, you may want to go wholesale where you can get products at a discount.

Thanks for the replies!

I was looking for any candle consultant, not just pl. I have only used pl though, but am open to other companies.

I personally, wouldn't want to sell them, because I dont think I would do the volume. I was just looking for every once in awhile sales.

Thanks!

Marisa :)

I think it's great that you are willing to try different candle companies! Maybe once you get used to the different candles, you could alternate between them, picking the "mood" candle for your occasion? Just a thought...

Even if you don't have a local candle company, most companies have websites you can order from without having a "party".

Whatever you decide to do, good luck!smileys/smiley1.gif
