Hi All..If you could give out ONLY ONE piece of advice or suggestion to a new consultant about home parties what would it be? I thought this could be a fun thread and give us all some tips in the process!
I'll start....
ALWAYS set yourself up in a quiet areaafter your presentation and make the guest come to you to complete their order. I was always told this in MK and never practiced it much, but it seems to be working for me now. I had my first party last week and I had 5 bookings from it and 500 in sales! I always thought it would make people uncomfortable, but actually quite the opposite. They get your undivided attention for a few min to help with questions and they are a lot less likely to say no when you ask EACH AND EVERY one of them to hostess a party. It also gives you a great opportunity to upsell!

My advice fora newbie:
Have fun! If you are having fun, so will your hostess and your guests. When you have fun, everything else will fall into place!

Hostess Coach your hostess! She's your partner for the evening and can help with the presentation, party loudness, etc. Plus, if you coach her right (have a wish list, make sure you've answered all her questions, etc), your party will go more smoothly!

Patti- what's your wording to offer a party instead of
asking. I think I always ask but i'd like to "offer".
TIA

Hi Nicole!
When you ask, you are doing it for yourself. When you offer, you are doing it for your potential hostess or guest. For example, when booking parties . . .when you ask: "Do you want to have a party?", when you offer "have you thought about having a party?". When you offer, it keeps the pressure off of your hostess/customer, and keeps the ball in their court, and makes them feel better about their decision to purchase or book.

My best piece of advice would be, talk about what you are passionate about! You sell things better when you genuinely are interested in them, & the customer can see it!
