Ours isn't free- but very inexpensive(49.00 this month)- especially for all you get..BUT...

The main question I would ask is what kind of things do you like? I believe you will be most successful going with something you love....regardless of the cost. That said...most companies have pretty reasonable start up fees- so make sure you find something you enjoy!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif

Hi Jessica, we need to know a little bit more about what type of company/products you are looking for to provide appropriate suggestions. One of my companies has a $9.95 sign-up fee and the other has no sign-up fee -- you are in business with your first product purchase.

Hi Jessica,

Are you sure it's party plan that you're interested in? Home parties mean product demonstrations... and those can't be done without products. That means purchasing a demo kit. From time to time you hear about party plan companies that will offer a special where you can "earn" your kit, but finding someone to just hand you a bunch of products for free, no strings attached, is highly unlikely.

Becoming an independent consultant with a party plan company means that you are starting a business. And as with any business, it does require some investment. The great thing about party plan is that the investment required is minimal... generally just the cost of your demo kit and any business supplies you may need (i.e., paper, ink, etc.) and any marketing you wish to do. You can usually adjust the latter two according to how much you have available to invest in your business at the beginning.

If you don't have any money to invest in a home based business right now, there are other work from home options that you might want to consider. You may want to start with a telecommuting job and save up until you have enough money to start the party plan business of your choice.

Hope that helps!

Blessings,
Christy

Hi Jessica and WELCOME to WAHM.com!!

There are no sign-up fees or minimums to become an Associate with Mia Bella. However, the discounts aren't as deep (approximately 30% more) than the Candle Of The Month (COTM) members receive, and you only receive 5% commission on your first level instead of the 10% that COTM members receive.

This is though, a good way to get your feet wet and see if this is a business you could be passionate about. Then you can change, only once in a year, to the COTM program if you find it to be a good fit for you.

Feel free to PM me if you have an interest or any questions.

It really depends on what you are interested in. If you are looking for a business, you should go for what you love and can promote, not just low/free start-up. If you're interested in health & wellness, Shaklee is offering free membership with any 30 pv purchase until 5/20. If you have questions, feel free to contact me.

Best of luck to you!

Hi Jessica -

What are you interested in? Most party plans offer a way for you to earn your kit if you want to join - don't just jump on board just because it's free.

Home and Garden Party is offering a potentially free kit this month. PM me or check out my website in my siggy if you want details. There is also an opportunity video on there.

Good luck!

It been said, but free isn't always free. Many offer low cost start ups, but chances are you will still have to spend money. Often a kit gets youproducts, catalogs, and other things you need to conduct your business. Many offer a website as well.

If money is tight, not a biggy! I've helped many a consultant start before hand, so just do some brainstorming.

Folow your passion.

HI Jessica
Welcome to the boards. What kind of work are you looking for? What are your interests? If we know a little more about what you are looking for you wouldn't be getting so many pm's and we would know how to help you out.
There are ways to get into a business with no money. I will send you a pm about Watkins.

Hi Jessica! I'm with Latasia Jewelry. We don't have an official "free" startup cost but it's very reasonable, $139 gets you over $800 worth of jewelry, $200 of which YOU pick out yourself, plus business supplies. We keep 40% of our first $1500 in sales and then you make 50% from then on, FOREVER!! No paychecks to wait on either!

I am offering MY personal new team members the chance to get a $100 rebate check from me when they sell their first $1500 before June 30th! Which is about 3 parties! If this interests you feel free to check out my site. My phone number is 318-567-1510 and my email is kkandrod@hughes.net I'm available to you at any time if you'd like to talk about Latasia!!

Hi Jessica! I agree that you shouldn't join a company just because it's free. You should go for the products and company that you love and can be passionate about. Only then can you be successful with whatever biz you choose.

Every business has some costs involved. I believe you have to invest in your business to be successful. Even if you go with a company that's "free to join", you would still have to purchase the products yourself in order to honestly promote them to others. Then there is the cost of business cards, catalogs, brochures, etc. Also, most DS companies have some kind of sales or purchase requirements to remain active, whether it be monthly or quarterly.

DITTO... I totally agree.Everyone isdifferent, and has different reason why they would join a company butin my opinion its better to get involved with a companythat you truly LOVE the product line as well as the company. When your passionate about it, use the products yourself you tend to do better. I hope you find your passion and I wish you much luck and success with what ever you decide to do. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif

I guess the big question is what are you looking for?
If you go to the Network Marketing folder there are many companies that are free to sign up - or pretty cheap - I know Ulanda mentioned hers was $9.95 but most of these companies you will have to make some type of purchase - so it would be wise to pick something you'll actually use! LOL
To do a party plan you will need a kit of some sort.... can you buy it and get reimbursed? Right now Southern Living at Home has where you can earn $100 back - but you have to do shows. Years ago I did Pampered Chef and you could earn your kit by having a party and getting the kit vs. hostess gifts....I don't know if they still do it but if you are willing to do a party that's a good way to go! But with any party plan to make money you'd need catalogs and such.
There's also a company now that's direct marketing called MyPowerMall and it's free to sign up and no monthly purchases...you just go to your PowerMall when you need to order something online and from there go to Gap, Old Navy, Barnes and Noble, Macy's etc. site. You earn rebates back and when you refer others to sign up you earn off their purchases too. The only drawback to something like that is yes, it's totally free to join, no purchases needed, no catalogs etc. BUT it is EXTREMELY inconsistent. It's fun to get a little check here or there but I wouldn't try to live off it.
Good Luck finding what you are looking for!!!! And best wishes!!

Jessica,
Welcome to WAHM!http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif It's great to meet you! There are loads of great home businesses to choose from but in order to become successful with a home business, you need to find something that fits your style.

Also, keep in mind that some home businesses do have min quotas and requirements. You may want to look at the overal start up cost of doing business with particular companies of your choice. Some may be free to join with quotas while others may have a start up cost but no mins. Overall, you'll want to look at the cost of a home business for the next year. Does that make sense?

Take your time with your search and remember to ask LOTS of questions. Do keep us posted~ http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif
