I am torn between two businesses. I am signed up for both. I figure I will use one for personal use only and the other for a full-time business. Please vote....

POSITIVES:

Tupperware:

1. I have had people calling ME from coming across my website

2. Large customer base potential (everyone has a kitchen)

3. Fundraiser program in place (group gets 40%)

4. Health insurance (I am a single mother and this is NICE)

5. More variety in having Theme Parties (Single Mingle, Choco. Lovers, etc)

6.I can promote families in the kitchen

7. There are more women at the top (sales)

Discovery Toys:

1. I have a work experience in literacy, recreation and education

2. I LOVE the toys (though my son has outgrown them)

3. Can earn trips AND bring my son

4. It seems the parties would be ALOT more fun!

NEGATIVES:

Tupperware:

1. I am not a big fan of cooking (though I think it'd be fun to learn)

2. Children are excluded from some trips smileys/smiley6.gif

3. There sales and incentives change so much it can get very confusing (I swear I am an ADD adult smileys/smiley17.gif)

4. I'm seeing more similiar stiff at Target, etc...

Discovery Toys:

1. No offense, but do I really want to be around little kids ALL the time

2. There are few women at the top (sales)

3. All the moms who say "my child has enough toys"

4. What about when I'm older? Seems most of the Reps are young mothers... Will I even fit it then?

5. The car program seems hard to attain.

AGGHHH! PLEASE help. I am so loss but need to decide QUICKLY. Times a wasting. smileys/smiley1.gif

PLEASE help me in making my final decision. You are also welcome to e-mail me in additional thoughts/comments. THANKS!!!

Well, that is hard. Which one seems more fun to you? Which one would you enjoy marketing more? Which one will be more fun to you to demo? You can be successful at both of them.

Only you can answer this question. Of course I'm bias. There are many women in Discovery Toys who's children are grown, and even some who don't have any kids.

Wish I was more help!

I'd be interested in both...I'd probably ask you to do the party for
the Discovery toys (It just sounds more fun...and I love
toys/children's lit) but bring a book for the tupperware as well.

Can you keep your tupperware business mainly an online business and just do parties for people who ask...not actually go all out looking for bookings. Also, maybe focus on the fundraising side of Tupperware. Then, use Discovery Toys as your "main" business and focus your booking efforts there? I think DT is something people need to see and get some hands on experience to truly appreciate, but everyone has some tupperware right? I think this way you can utilize the best of both without to much time tied up with Tupperware.

Not sure this is what you were looking for, but hope it helps some Good Luck with whatever you decide!

I think it would depend.......

Does my kitchen need some major organization?

or

Does my child's brains need some major organization?

Hmmmmmmmmm.........that's a tough one! smileys/smiley36.gif

i have two businesses myself and I do find myself in
the struggle of which one deserves more attention at
this time. It's nice though because if one is slow the
other tends to pick up. Like right now, recruiting is
hot for one and bookings is for the other.
I currently am accepting bookings for either that way I
am doing as many shows as I need to get the
paycheck i need. You can always chat about the
other when someone isn't interested in booking the
show you are demo-ing that night. I got a BYB
customer at a PC show and a possible consultant
for BYB that was a PC customer.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that you can work
them both at the same time if you want or just pick
one that is "hot" right now. I think that you are going
to be successful either way.

Good luck!
Nicole :)

And YES...I have thought about focusing on Discovery Toys while only promoting Tupperware for online orders only.

TW isn't about cooking It is about saving space time and money in the kitchen so don't worry about that part

The incentives are in the stage of changing a little with the new breakthrough plan BUT it is an awesome plan no matter what!

I don't know about discovery toys but i know moms (me) need STORAGE for toys storage=tupperware!!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I probably wouldn't have a party for either one! I am very frugal, so I reuse all the containers I can so I don't buy any tupperware (I re-use my ziploc bags until they don't ziplock anymore!). :)

As for the toys, I love the toys that Discovery Toys sells, but there are SO MANY DT consultants near me that I just order from them if I need something. My DD's music teacher is actually a DT rep and she does a mystery host party with us every year (just before Christmas). I can't afford a lot of the DT toys (we get most of our XMass gifts at garage sales), so I should probably have a party to get them free!! :)

If _I_ had to choose which company to represent, I'd go with DT, because they have stuff for ages 0 through teens, and everyone is always looking for gift ideas.

I would probably be more likely to book a DT show. I don't have kids at homebut there are a lot of kids in our family and more to come.

I want too add this. I am not sure that it would qualify for a vote.

I once was in two party plans at once. Then I had to decide where I was going to put my 110% in to. My passion was not with my first company, but with my second.

I had never been to a conference with #1 or earned any trips. However, since I chose #2 I have been on one cruise, taking another in January, and have earned a trip for my family. NOt to mention that I have been to four conventions.

My vote....

Find your passion and hop!

Okay...UPDATE time! I like both companies. I could probably make more with Tupperware in the beginning. Tupperware has a good program.

BUT...I JUST got back from a church fair and they had different booths. Including Tupperware and Discovery Toys. Tupperware is a good product. But I LOVED being by the DT boooth. That's just my background. I spoke to my Tupperware upline the other day (she's great) and she said I need to follow my passion, so I am....

Discovery Toys...here I come. smileys/smiley36.gif

Good luck on your decision...just curious from your online name...are you in KY???

I am with Celebrations by Lillian Vernon and I have too much stuff (pampered chef) in my kitchen and too many toys in my kids toy boxes!! However if I had to choose one, it would be discovery toys! I love Celebrations because we can take our kids....at our conference, there were a few infants who sat in on the training meetings and everything....breastfeeding moms and everything!! so we're very kid friendly! and our catalog offers stuff cool for kiddos and adults that you can't buy at Wal-mart!!

good luck to you!

Congrats on your decision. I would have picked DT too. I
have 2 boys (21 mos and 8 mos), so good age range, plus I couldn't go
with TW ... don't use the products and not my kinda thing really.
I wish you much successsmileys/smiley1.gif.
