As much as I want this to be a success, I just can't make the "cold calls" to book spa's. Can you share some verbiage to help me get over this hump. I don't know how to make this a success until I can over the fright of calling people. I've tried making a game with myself to see how many NO's I can get in 15 minutes. I get a lot! :(

HELP!

COLD CALLS??!!
do you mean calling the people in your contact list? if that is the case then (personally) i don't call them cold calls anymore. I have changed my posture around it. these are people that i know one way or another and that I have developed a rapport of some kind. if not, then call to get updated on the lates in their life, then when they ask about what you've been upto you can tell them. tell them about how you tried this spa thing, you loved it and now you are doing Spas to help people de stress. OR you can say that you have jsut started a business. when they ask you what it is , you tell them in 20 sec or so what you do. DON"T spill the beans to them on the first call!! if they want to know more then offer to drop a mini cabana or somethingoff at their work place. people will want to know what you are giving to them! if they don't work, then at the school or something.

you can call your close friends and family and 'let them know' that you are doing Spa retreats and if they know of anyone that may be stressed, tired or overworked that they can refer to you...etc

there is no cold calls. it is all warm calls. you are warming them up with honest compliments,. news, etc an dthe opportunity to try something new and exciting!

just my humble canadian opinion.

http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gifHi nabbynm,

I agree with Space Pea, if indeed you are attempting to call people that you have already met (at some point in your life). Then it's not really cold...it's just a matter of reconnecting.

If you are truly trying to make "cold calls" to people you've not yet met, I have some advice, but I'm curious if you are attempting to contact individuals or businesses with your cold calls. I'll wait to post again until I see what your response is. I just don't want to overwhelm you with info that may not be relevant to what you're doing...or trying to get up the nerve to do!

Take care,
Melissa

my unit is doing a spa blitz booking challenge this week where we are all supposed to start phoning our prospect list at the same designated time and try to book spas from that...you call and say that you are in a contest and that you need to book 3 spas in 30 minutes and if you do all your hostesses will receive a mini set(or whatever else you want to offer) then you tell them you only have 2 spas left...you tell them this regardless of how many you have or don't have...this way they will want to help you, but also won't keep you on the phone long because they know you have to get one more...here is the script I gopt from Linda Schindler

<DIV align=left>
<DIV align=left>Here's your script:
<DIV align=left>Hi, this is ___________ with BeautiControl and I'm calling because there's a contest going on and if I book 3 spas in the next 30 minutes every one of my hostesses will win an adorable set of mini Spa products (or whatever you want to give). Plus we're doing a drawing in just a few minutes and 1 hostess will earn a $50 Spa and Cosmetic Package!!! And you'll also get our fabulous $25 heated neck wrap...any product in the line for 1/2 price...and you can earn a BeautiControl Shopping Spree! I just need 2 more spas....can you help me out???
<DIV align=left>
<DIV align=left>you could do this any time even if you are not in a contest, they would never know...it is a great way to start and then when you call them later for more info it is much easier...of course change the script to what works for you

Great idea, GG. Even when you are not in a contest with your unit, you can always be in competition with yourself, you can challenge yourself.
You CAN make the call! http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif

Also, I never call them mini spa products. I call them Individual-sized Spa products. They are not mini treatments, they're HUGE, AWESOME, AMAZING treatments!, but they come in mini packages. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif

Maybe you girls can help me too. I'm wanting to call a couple of Bridal stores and this one store that sells handbags and jewelry. I'd want to offer spa pampering hand treatments. My words get so tied up. Please help!

Thanks,
sandra

I personally would go in if I could...that way you could offer the treatment to the one in charge and after it is experienced they won't want to tell you no
