Do any of you send out your hostess invitations for them? Do you do reminder calls the day before the event?

I send out all the invitations and give extras to the hostess to hand out before the show. I encourage my hostess to make reminder calls, but if they are too busy, I offer to make them.I once got 3 more guests to a show by making the calls.

I mail out the reminder invitations for my host. On the same day I mail these out, I send her a couple of extras along with a note that I will be calling her on _____ to get a full headcount and confirm directions, so I would recommend that she call her guests a day or two before in order to confirm their attendance.
Check with your Accountant (who knows, it might be different for different states or circumstances), but I am able to write-off the postage expense, along with other business expenses (ink, etc.) at tax time.

I send out my hostess invitations as well. I send along an invitation to her, too, and on that one ask her to personally call her guests to invite them that day. I also make follow up calls the day before the party to anyone she hasn't heard from yet, or may be on the fence as to coming.

I send out invitations but give a free candle if she provides the stamps. I make reminder calls to the guests that she has not reached yet or has down as "maybes". (No since in calling the "Nos" who have already told her they can't come). I always ask for bookings if the guest tells me they can't come or refer them to the website for an outside order for the Hostess.

I send out the invites for many reasons but it's very nice to know what counties and areas the potential guests are coming from. That way I'll have a list ofwhat sales tax to charge each guestcoming from different areas since we direct ship to each customer.
