Hi... I'm very interested in joining ebay. Can anybody explain to me about ebay? As I'm a future international seller. I'm wondering how shouldI package my items (boxes, bubble wrap, styrofoam...) and should I charge flat ship feeor actual ship fee ? Do I need a website? I'd really appreciate if anybody can help me with these ?

You don't need a website. I have had one before: E Bay store. I charge a flat rate. I sell a lot of heavy computer components. The Postal Services gives me free self-sealing boxes for these. You can ship anywhere in the U.S. for $8.10 right now. I frequently use bubble wrap (big bubbles) for delicate items. If you haven't done this yet, open a Pay Pal account. This allows you to accept credit card payment from buyers. The account is free to open, but they do charge fees. They pay a good interest rate (about 5%) for funds in the Pay Pal account and allow you to transfer the money in your account to your bank account for free.

What size are your boxes that is $8.10 flat rate? I got a bunch from the post office, but they are dinky and really don't hold that much.

They are about 10 x 12 and about 3 inches deep. These flat rate boxes come in this size and one smaller size only.

There is one other thing that I do with shipping. If I expect the item to sell for more than $20 or $25 I insure it when I ship it. I factor this cost into my shipping and handling price. It is not usually more than $2 or $3.

Also a lot of good information in The E Bay Community. These are groups of buyers and sellers that exchange information.
