Hey girls!

I am putting togethera hostess package and I am really not liking my hostess letter. It was passed on to me through my unit, but it sounds too impersonal to me. I've been fumbling through it and making changes but I still just don't like it. Sad to say, but I've never really used a hostess letter before. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley24.gif I have sent letters to my hostess' but I have never had to give them the run down of the spa.

I'm hoping some of you wouldn't mind passing along your hostess letter so I could get some ideas for mine.

If you would pm me or post it on here, I would really appreciate it! TIA

Here's a sample of what I send out via email. This particular hostess rescheduled into May so she will not be receiving the "April" special of 50% off microderm abrasion (my director recommended this special as a way to help make sure spas hold on their original date). <?:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /></v:stroke></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:f></v:ulas></v:path><?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:lock aspectratio="t" v:ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shape>

Dear Robin,

I really enjoyed meeting you at Dana’s! I just know that you will love hosting a Spa Escape® for your friends. As my gift to you, you already received 50% off your Spa Facial Set. At your Spa Escape® you will get your new herbal neck wrap and Spa socks ($25 value). Your friends will be so grateful that you selected them to pamper!

Here is what you need to know to ensure a rejuvenating, fun, and successful Spa Escape®:

1. <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Please provide me with the list of guests at least two weeks beforehand.[/B] You can even give me a partial list when you set your date. I can accommodate as many people as your room can hold, but in order for you to receive your rewards you will want a minimum of 5 guests. I will send card-quality invitations to each guest. You will want to call them 48 hours prior to the scheduled spa date as well to ensure they don’t forget. I prepare items for each guest, so it is imperative that I have an accurate count 24 hours ahead of time. Having said all this, I know that things happen. If someone cannot make it at the last minute, the world will not end. J

2. <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Please talk to each person you are inviting![/B] Help them to understand that this is NOT a drop in and shop party. They do not need to dress up or wear makeup. They will be receiving exclusive spa treatments on their feet, hands, neck, forearms, and face. Recommend that your friends try to arrive a few minutes early, just as they would for an appointment for a massage. Explain to them that if they arrive late, they cut into THEIR spa time and that they should just come in the front door and silently join us.

3. <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">You can get up to 20% of the sales in free product for yourself[/B]. But this gift is conditional upon my receiving two “bookings”. When someone wants to hostess their own Spa Escape® or wants to become a consultant with me; those qualify as “bookings”. Your friends who cannot attend are ideal candidates for being hostesses. Your friends who need a little spending money, are bored or in a rut, or are in need of an executive income with a stay-at-home-mom lifestyle may find that being a BeautiControl Spa Consultant is for them. At your Spa Escape®, please be an encourager to those who you think would be good at what I do or might enjoy being a hostess themselves. When you scheduled this Spa Escape, you qualified Dana to receive her $125 in discounts….

4. <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">The [/B]<B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">Spa Escape® will take one hour.[/B] Then I will fill orders and answer questions afterwards. This is when you serve refreshments. My experience has been that this second part takes another hour. If anyone needs to leave early, they will want to meet with me first right after the Spa Escape® is over. Let your guests from outside the neighborhood know that I will have the products with me so that they can take their treatments home with them that evening. I accept checks, Paypal, &amp; credit cards. I can add or subtract any items you wish to the list of demos. Just let me know your preferences (preferably by Sunday 4/1 when I place my next order).

5. <B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">I will arrive 35 minutes ahead of time to set up[/B]. I will need your help with a few things. If you do not have the ability to play my Spa CD, let me know and I’ll bring my boom box. I will be bringing my own candles. We will use your sink for the first hand treatment. I may need to use your microwave to heat up the neck wraps and spa socks. I will also need a few tables cleared off. Most people use their kitchen table for my baskets and displays and have a coffee table or side table cleared in the Family/Living Room for the items I use during the Spa Escape®.
<B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">[/B]
<B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">6. [/B]<B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">BeautiControl periodically offers additional hostess specials. My director just told me that in April you can receive your Microderm Abrasion set at 50% off. Just follow steps 1-5 and hold your Spa Escape on 4/19.[/B]
<B style="mso-bidi-font-weight: normal">[/B]
Sincerely,

<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />Here's mine. This is the second page. The first page is an overview of the hostess benefits.

HOSTING A SPA IS AS EASY AS 1, 2, 3!
1. Invite “3” times the number of guests you would like to have in attendance. The perfect spa is 8 guests, so consider including at least 24 on your guest list. Return the enclosed guest list to me (or email) within 5 days of this party and I will mail you a special gift.
2. Take outside orders. I have enclosed an outside order form for you to share with those of your guests that cannot attend your spa escape. Remember you will receive the Show of Hands, valued at $26.50 with $100 in orders.
3. Encourage one of your guests to commit to holding their own spa escape. When you have “one” booking before I arrive you will receive a FREE Herbal Serenity Foot Crème!

SEND YOUR GUEST LIST TO ME WITHIN 5 DAYS OF BOOKING AND RECEIVE A FREE GIFT!!!

SPA RULES
˜ NO PHONES OR JOB RELATED STRESS OR WORRIES

<H1 style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt; TEXT-INDENT: 0.5in">Comfortable Seating</H1>
Card size table/coffee table for my display
Keep refreshments simple. Lemon Water is perfect for this type of experience! Whatever you do, please serve it after!

Thanks for booking a spa! Please try to keep our scheduled date. This is my business and source of income… I need to keep my calendar full. If you do need to reschedule, please let me know as soon as possible so I can fill that date. I will call or email you the day before to find out how many guests you are expecting and to see if you have any questions. I will come 15-20 minutes early the night of the spa.
If you would like to encourage your guests to bring a friend, they will receive a BUDDY GIFT from me!

I'm looking forward to pampering you!

Dear Spa Hostess,

Hello! I just wanted to start off by saying thank you so much for
booking a Spa Escape. You will have lots of fun, just like you did tonight.
I am giving you this letter to give you some hints and challenges for
your party.

One of the most important things you can do is DO NOT CANCEL. This is
my business and my time is also very limited as well. It's important to
me and you that we hold your party on the schedule date.

There are some major benefits to you having a Spa Escape. You can
receive free product. Here is the break down off it.

If your party is a total of $200-299.99 with two bookings you get 10%
which equals $20-29.99 off

If your party is a total of $300-499.99 with two bookings you get 15%
which equals $45-74.99 off

If your party is a total of $500 + with two bookings you get
20% which equals $100+ off

If you choose to offer refreshments, I recommend that you keep it
simple and wait until after the party to serve them. I've discovered that I
can not complete with chocolate cake. After the party, while
refreshments are being served, I will answer questions, take orders, and book
parties.

If possible, can I have a small display area, like a card table, end
table to display my items? Also, I will need to know ahead of time if
you have a cd player, if not then I will bring one of my own.

I will be arriving about 30 minutes early to set up. I will also be
calling you to check to see the progress of the party, and if you have
any questions.

I am so excited for your spa! I love what I do! You are to see first
hand why I love BeautiControl. I would to have you on my team so watch
what I do and see if it might be right for you too. And, thank you again
for helping me reach my goals.

Thank you all so much for the hostess letters! They are all great and I think I almost have mine together!

I have one quick question...for those of you who offer free full size products for incentives, do you incooperate them together? What I mean is, if you offer the SOH for having 2 bookings and then offer another full size product for having $100 in outside orders, do you make sure the two products work together or are from the same line? (I hope this makes sense)

I have a few discontinued items that I would like to use as incentive gifts. Is that a good idea? And is it ok that they are from different lines and really don't have anything to do with one another?

Thanks again for the letters, ladies!

i don't think it matters and women LOVE free stuff...it would introduce them to our products and show them how great they are...just be sure to let them know that these items are no longer available and be ready with ideas for replacements because once they try something they may want to buy it

BoyzOnMySide

That is what I am worried about. I would hate to help the guests fall in love with products and not have them available to buy. But at the same time, it would be nice to get rid of some of the stock I have. What to do, what to do...
