Has anyone done a Wellness Fair before? I'd love to hear what you did and how it worked.
Here's my deal...A local hospital is having a Women's Wellness Fair next month and they are having a special "Pampering" room. The woman in charge was so happy to meet me (which happened accidentally - just gotta love how things like this work out!) because she wants more people like me at her fair.
Anways, I can't sell orbookspa BUT I can display products and get contact information from everyone (last year they had 500+ women attend!). She wants me to pamper small groups of women for 15 minutes. What would you suggest? I was thinking the neckwrap, eye pads, and maybe a hand massage with the hand cream. I want to tease the ladies so they want to host a spa!

Thanks in advance for your help ladies! I love reading all of your fabulous ideas.http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

do the lip apeel...if they are concerned about taking their lipstick off you could have a few lipstick shades and applicators available too...I would try to do SOH if you can and definately do the relaxation and talk up how this is only a small part of what you get if you host a full spa...also you said you can't book, but can you do a drawing where the winner receives a free spa

I don't understand why you would not be able to book spas there. That would be the best place because they are already at work and can check their schedule without having to call you back. I understand the not sellingbit, but I would double check on the booking.

I did a wellness fair at a Credit Union with over 300 people. I only did the SOH, but I was in a "booth" setup. Anyway, what I did was display a mini set and tell everyone I was giving away an individual spa set including whatever was in the mini. I had a little piece of paper printed with lines for NAME, PHONE #, EMAIL, BEST TIME TO CALL. Also include a check box on the bottom that says "I am interested in hosting a Spa ESCAPE".

If you only have 15 minutes I would do the SOH,eye pads, lip apeel and relaxation exercise. You want to have the most impact in the shortest period of time. When you are done with the relaxation part explain the rest of the in-home ESCAPE and how much more they and their friends will get treated to. Before they leave tell them you are giving awaythe individual spa treatment set and have them fill out the drawing slip. If they are interested in hosting an ESCAPE have them check the box on the bottom of the drawing slip. I also tell everyone that I will be using the slips to call them for their complimentary In-Home Spa ESCAPE. If they don't want me to call please don't include their phone number, but please leave an email address so you can contact them with any future sales or specials on new products. When you are that open and honest with them they are more likely to give you their information and be willing to host an ESCAPE.

Hope this helped a little bit.

Thanks for your help ladies!
People attending the fair will be from local communities, not just hospital employees. It is not being held at the hospital (because they don't have enough space for the expected turnout) so people wouldn't be able to easily check their schedules to host a party anyways. To be honest with you, I'm not sure why bookings can't be made, but the woman made it very clear that we couldn't do it at the time of the fair. I figured it will be great just to be around 500+ women (most of them new to me!) and get the BeautiControl word out. I live in an area where I am one of only 2 consultants in a 50 mile radius so just about everyone who I come in connect withhas NEVER heard of BC!

That is SO awesome, what an opportunity.

I would suggest you get a basket to displayeverything you get in your kit when you join and get a lucite paper sign holder, and make a sign that says "Ask me how you can get this ultimate home spaset for only $125 (or whatever the price is for May)" In that case I would also include on your drawing slip a check box that says "I want the Ultimate Spa Basket"

Hi Alissa,
Great idea.
I am curious about how you do the show of hands at a trade fair? How do you rinse their hands?
Thanks

All you do is have a basin that they scrub their hands over, and then you have a jug of warm water to pour over their hands when they're done. Be sure to keep emptying the basin into a bucket or something, because it can look pretty gross! We usually take turns running the buckets to the bathroom to empty or get fresh water for the jugs. You'll want to have a clean bucket for fresh water and another for the used water.
