I received a mailer yesterday from Yankee Candle, good on all 22oz Housewarmer Jar Candles.

Has anyone tried offering this to your customers to increase sales?

I thought about doing this or maybe offering HALF OFF the 2nd jar candle.

I received an e-mail for a free spring scent jar from Y Candle....with the prerequisite sign up for a service that I dont need. I don't think I would burn a Y candle even if it was given to me for free!

I do like the idea of BOGO 1/2 off though on a first purchase. That way they can try the candles and see what a great product it is and come back for more!

I wouldn't waste my money on any candle that looses its scent halfway thru.
I have given out a free votive w/purchase of a jar. I choose the scent I have moved out alot of my maple syrup votives that way. Other wise they would still be sitting in that box http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif I couldn't even sell the jar, I ended up donating it to my chiropractors open house event.

I usually offer a buy one got 1/2 half to my friends buying for first time. I'm not doing that during my table show tomorrow though because I want to maximize my profits http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif. Alot of times offering a special will least get them to try and then go to regular price when they reorder.

I offer quantity discounts:

buy 2 - save $2
Buy 4 - save $9

This still gives me a good profit, and give incentive to buy more.

Good luck on your table show tomorrow luvthttabby :). You will do awesome!
I think buy 1 get 50% off will work better for me. Or buy 1 get one free votives or a bag of melts.

I am doing a first time order special- buy one get one free, but I am not doing it for everyone. I am only handing out a dozen coupons for that.
