Howdy All,
I haven't decided which company i'm going to join, but that's for all the great info. Keep it coming!
Does anyone have any tips how to get up and go. I really don't have any friends/family to get going and all my old contacts are long gone. I would love to get into the swing of things again, just not sure how to start off! I would like to get an idea before I jump into a company!
Any input would be greatly appreciated :)
Thanks
Kristi

Hi Kristi,
Well, with Heritage Makers specifically, you'll be amazed at the response you'll get by just simply showing people a book that you've made. You don't even have to approach it as trying to make a sale... just say, "hey check out this book i made!" Our books are so unique that right away people are asking how you made it and then go right into the stories that THEY would like to put in a book, too. If you have kids, write a book about them and share it with other moms in their classes, sports teams, etc. I know one consultant that carries a couple in her purse at all times, making sure that they are ON TOP of her wallet. Then whenever she goes to pay for something at a store, she has to take out the books and set them on the counter in order to get to her wallet. The sales clerks and other customers in line quickly become intrigued. http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif
You can also offer your services to clubs and groups like MOPS, VFW, etc. by contacting them and offering to give a free talk on "the importance of preserving your heritage" or something similar.
Contact wedding coordinators, professional photographers, etc. and share with them how these books would be a great additional service to offer to their clients.
Another wayis to find local scrappers groups. Oftentimes you can join them and just set up a table on the side of the room when they do their crops.
Those are just a few ideas off the top of my head. There are LOTS of opportunities!
Blessings,
Christy

Here is what I did: I started a Meetup Group at meetup.com. It was $19 and they advertised to people in my local area for me. I set up a scrap night and they advertised. On the first day, I had one person RSVP and on the next day, another person RSVP'd. These are both people that I don't know so it was great. That got me a lot of new referrals. I am going to hold this meetup group once a month. I had a lot of people telling me they have heard wonderful things about Close To My Heart and was eager to come see our products. I also set up a mailing list for my newsletter. I send out a monthly newsletter to all of my customers and new referrals. My group is very helpful in sharing newsletters things for those that would like the help. We also belong to a Yahoo group to bounce ideas off of and share information and ask questions. I ordered a car window sign for advertisement. At Close To My Heart (on the consultant page) we have ready made News Releases, Flyers, and Ads that we can print and use in newspapers or as handouts. All of that work is done for us. These are what I have done and have found successful. I will share more later.
Thanks!
