Yes I believe it is covering the Direct Selling Business altogether-- talking about how great it is and many women work from home.

I can't wait to read it -- should be very interesting.

I heard it's just an ADVERTISEMENT not a whole article. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm trying not to get my hopes up. I also heard the 17th in stores, but maybe not? I'm excited either way - it's OPRAH!!

Hey girls!!!
I was just shopping at Wal-mart and IT's IN!! There is no article with us in. It's just about the benefits of working in the direct sales industry and how to make it work for each individual person. They have a Direct Sales Directory, and we're in it along with the full page advertisement. It's in a special 20 page pull out book in the middle called "Ready, Set, Shop!"

Funny thing...we're standing in line and my 4 year old finds the add because of the neck wrap and microderm and the spa ladies. She got out of the cart so she could get me some more copies cause I would need them for my spa lady parties!! How funny kids are!

Anyway, The other companies in there are Mary Kay, Arbonne, Cookie Lee, Lia Sophia, Creative Memories, Silpada, Avon, Princess House, PartyLite, Quixtar, etc. We are one of 8 full size ads for DS companies. There are roughly 49 other companies featured in the DS Directory.

I know I am biased, but I believe that our ad has the most impact of the rest in there. Quixtar- by looking at the ad I have no clue what they do or sell. MK-focuses on fun with makeup. Silpada-"I found a title that I love almost as much as "mom"- they sell jewelry. I think this one would have the biggest impact on me if I had any interest in Jewelry. Avon - "a better tomorrow starts today"...kinda plain... You get the idea.

I bought 2 copies, one to keep and one to take with my everywhere!

Hello Ladies~

I received my O Magazine today! Here are all of the details:

~ There is atwenty (ten two sided pages)page DSA (Direct Selling Association) insert that is removable and looks to be its own small magazine.

~ The insert is located after page 182.

~ The BeautiControl ad is on page nine of the insert and is a full page ad. Maybe it is just my copy, but the text looks to be a tad bit out of focus. Cross your fingers it is my copy!

~ The following companies have full page ads in order: Silpada, Avon, BeautiControl, lia sohia, Quixtar, Creative Memories, Nu Skin Enterprises and on the back cover of the magazine insert Mary Kay.

~ The following companies have half page ads in order: SenseCosmetics & SeneDerm, Tahinitan Noni.

~ The following companies have quarter page ads in order: Partylite, Jockey, at home America, Nature's Sunshine, Tastefully Simple, Private Quaters.

~ The following companies have small ads about two inches by three and a half inches in order: Arbonne, bigyellowbox by Crayola, essetial bodywearllc, Gold Canyon, lia sophia, National Companies, Partylite, reliv, Saladmaster, Sensaria, Signature Homestyles,SwissJust.

~ There is a Marketplace section that is a directory to a listing of companies. Thelistings show the company name, the website and phone number. Some of the listings show the company logo. They are in alphabetical order.BeautiControl is listed the samesize as the others in thedirectory with logo. The companies listed in the pargraph above are larger ads in the same directory.

~ There are a few articles to read on the concept of direct selling itself.

~ There is a two full page spread on Profiles, featuring eight people with a who, what, where concept. The following companies/people are featured: SeneGence Intl, Essential Bodywear, Home & Garden Party, Beadretreat, AtHome America, Princess House, Ethnic Expressions, Creative Memories.

That is the lowdown ladies....hope this information helps!

As a person that has hosted almost every kind of home party there is, I was really surprised not to see Pampered Chef.

Are these companies the ones that Oprah likes herself?

hehehehe. This made me think of funny story. One of the girls in our unit was listening to Tyra a month or so ago on her talk show and she stated that she uses pure vaseline on her skin to mask the dryness when she is on set. So our consultant sent her our Anti-Ash hydrating creme. Isn't that a riot? Talk about stepping out of your comfort zone http://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif. Haven't heard anything back yet.

I have often thought if Oprah has actually tried BC any? I know we have had our ad's in her Magazine before-so I wonder if she has tried anything....

beautigirl73
04-13-2007, 04:09 PM
I was curious about that too. I'd imagine she has in the past but don't know if she's tried anthing current. I know that years ago Ginger Heath was on her show talking about BC and successful women in business. I didn't actually see the show but saw highlights. I think I remember that Ginger had a revolving closet, kind of like the rack they have at the dry cleaners. All of her clothes were color coordinated lol..which makes sense because of all the color analysis and wardrobe tips that BeautiControl was famous for!

got the mag in the denver airport yesterday during my 2 hour layover that turned into three and a half...i personally wasn't all that impressed...it defineatly was not what i expected...i thought there was going to be more of a feature and an article or something...i would have passed this by if I wasn't looking for it...i spent quite a while looking in the table of contents for it and almost gave up, but it's not like there was anything else to do for three and a half hours in an airport...

I got mine. I was standing in Walmart looking for it, and my mom was looking too. She asked me why I wanted it, then I told her why. There was a lady in the section with us, and when I found it, I got excited. So I handed the lady my business card when she thought that sounded interesting. So maybe she will call me. I got her name but she wasnt comfortable giving me her number, so I told her to call me instead.
