Even though some of us may not have too much to give, we
have more than the Hurricane Katrina survivors. As I watched
some of the coverage today on MSNBC, I watched a little boy,
no older than my son Ryan, 2 1/2 years old, lay in his mothers
arms, very weak from lack of food and water, I realized I can do
something.

As a company, Noah's Ark Animal Workshop, a vast majority of
the reps. are getting together to make a difference. Here is how
I am making a difference...

I am offering the sweetest stuffed animal that comes with
adoption papers, colors, coloring book, and a carrying tote to
help the children of the Hurricane Katrina survivors and victims!

You and your family can purchase one and donate it to
whatever charity or organization you choose ($20 each). The
children of the survivors and victims will most likely not have a
Christmas or even a birthday throughout the next several
months. They deserve something special they can use for
comfort. What better gift than a special bear!

We need to come together as a nation and help these people
in such sad times.

To show your support, email your request for an order form and
one will be emailed or sent to you immediately!
Noah-to-Goah Package, $20 which includes stuffed animal, t-
shirt, adoption papers, coloring book, and crayons.

Please show your support! These kids need and deserve
something special for now and for the Holidays! All orders will
be sent to the charities of your choice starting in October.

Don't wait, help put a smile on the children's faces! Along with
the sweet stuffed animal package, a monetary donation will be
made to the charity as well.

If you have any questions, please feel free to send me an email
or give me a call.

Please forward this to everyone and anyone you know! Let's all
make a difference!

Thanks and remember to kiss your kids every night before bed
and tell them how much you love them each and every day!

That's great Jenn! We've got something in place as well and are sending toys and books, and those I've talked to down there are very appreciative.

I just wanted to let you all know that my dh and I are going to drive up to Mississippi today to bring some family back with us. We have rented a cargo van and will be filling it with food, water, diapers, and others supplies to drop off. The company that I work for ,Mentors on A Mission , has made a donation to the Red Cross and they are also donating the funds to fill the van up with supplies. We are leaving this afternoon. I think that it is great that so many are doing all that they can.

Jenn- My sister saw that same little boy on TV. She also has a son- two years old and her heart went out to the mom and that little child. So this morning she organized a Lemonade stand with signs donated from Kinkos andcookies she picked up from BJ's. We rounded up our kids-all eight of them and worked that Lemonade stand from 12 to 6. Our total was Over- 2500.00!!!!!!! We are sending it to the MA Red Cross-and making sure that it is being used for the Katrina Relief only!!!!

You would not believe all the people that were just so happy to find a place to donate money to help thosepoor people!!!!

I just can't imagine how they are surviving thisdestructionsmileys/smiley19.gif

Kimberly- that is so wonderful that you are able to get there and help.

Good Luck!

I have our local Theatre reserved for October 6 to hold a Benefit Fashion Show. ALL profit is being sent to the Salvation Army and the purchases the profit is generated from will be for sleep wear and lounge wear for the men, women and children and also clothing for the women. This will all be delivered to the people we have housed in our parish and a neighboring parish in shelters.

Isn't great that we are in positions to be able to help? I'm so glad to see how many of us are willing to help these people. It breaks my heart to see something like this happening in my home state and the neighboring states. We have all of our parish school buses going down south Tuesday to bring in more people. They cancelled school for that day to do this.

The main thing every single one of us should be doing is praying. God is the only One who can get everyone through this. This whole situation needs to be in His hands. He will bring people through this and they'll be blessed on the other side of it because they (and us) trusted in Him to provide.

God Bless everyone!

The Mom's club that I belong to here in my town is currently organizing something to do with the children so that they can understand compassion and how to good it feels to help others!

Kim...that is great what you are doing, please let us know how it went.

Linda...that is a great idea! Congratulations on making such a large amount to donate!

I am so happy that everyone is chipping in whatever time and resources they have to help the victims of Katrina. We just got back home about 2 hours ago. I am so tired, but my mind is racing and I cannot sleep. I just want to tell you all that I live in Florida and have been in a hurricane, but I have never seen anything like this.On the way to drop off a truck load of food at a church in a small town of Mississippi that is not on the coast, but was still devastated by the storm we road through some really small towns that hadn't received any relief yet and we handed out water. These people were so grateful even to get water. My heart broke to see children that were so happy about getting water from us. When we got to the church we handed out food and water. Many people told us that this was the first food they had been able to get.

Gas is a wholeother subject. We were ingas lines that were 2 to 3 hours long. With a limit of $30 in gas. Most gas stationsdidn't even have gas. I know that their are news stories about the violence, but we were greeted with so much love. These people that havenothing even wanted to siffen (sp) the gasout of their tanks to try and get us enough gas to get back into Alabama. Of course we wouldn't take it. We went up the road and waited in line for gas with everyone else. This area will need our help for a long time to come.

It felt good to do what we did, but I sure wish we could have done more.

My husband is a Chicago Firefighter, and he and about 35 other firefighters are leaving at 4:30 am, Monday September 6,to drive down to help the people in Louisianna, for 2 weeks. They are going out of the kindness and goodness in their hearts! They are going to be helping w/ the search and rescue. I am very proud of my husband for doing this. (he was at ground zero in the search and recovery)

I am asking you to say a prayer for the guys leaving to lend a hand. I pray they will be safe and have the strength to carry on this huge and important task. It will not be a pretty site with all that is going on there.

I am a crew member w/ Noah's Ark, and I have a few extra animals that I am giving him to take on this journey to give to any children he may come across. I do not care about making any type of profit from this horrific disaster, I just hope that the animal kits will bring a bit of comfort and joy to the child during this time.

There is another effort that is happening in several states now called Project Backpack www.projectbackpack.org (http://www.projectbackpack.org)

It started as an idea with 3 young sisters and now is across 9 states with many many volunteers. What we are doing is collecting (new or used) backpacks filled with items such as, crayons, pencils, markers, paper, small toys or stuffed animals (new) bubbles, anything at all. We have a list of the "required school materials" for the school district also, because a temporary school is being set up for these children. For more information on how you can help/donate please go to the website. We are going down at different times and each of us is bringing 100's - 1,000's of backpacks!!!
