I found this and I am interested in doing some of the focus groups but not sure if it's a scam or not

Do a bbb search for www.findfocusgroups.com (http://www.findfocusgroups.com).

Also, do a www.whois.net (http://www.whois.net) search to find out who owns the site.
You could also do a search on scambusters.org.

Good Luck!

I guess it's a scam. I did all three and I found nothing.

That doesn't mean it is a scam.

I would suggest you repost this with findfocusgroups-scam? in the subject. If no one here has heard of them, then I would stay far away.

Good luck,

Hi there. My name is Danny and I actually run the site http://findfocusgroups.com

It is definitely NOT a scam. That's one of the main reasons I started the site. I wanted a place that listed safe and legitimate focus groups.

The site is even feature in the May issue of Reader's Digest. You can see the online link here: www.rd.com/content/workathome-resource-guide/1/</font> (http://www.rd.com/content/workathome-resource-guide/1/)

Please let me know if anyone has any question. Have a good day!

Oh okay. I am sorry. I just couldn't find anything out about it.
Can I you tell me what focus group company is listed on your site. Just wondering where the focus group in Philadelphia is located.

Not a problem. smileys/smiley1.gif

The PA study for moms doesn't have any more information as far as where in Philadelphia it is. However, I have posted studies from that market research company before and I can tell you they are honest and legitimate. If you qualify for the study they will follow-up with a phone call and you can get more information about where exactly it is being held.

Okay thank you. I just wanted to make sure it was legitamate (?) and not a waste of time.

There are a LOT of legitimate research companies who do focus groups. My message board has some listed everyday and we also have dannys site stickied as a great place for finding focus groups. (I have to say when I went to my message board to check what site we were using I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it WAS Dannys..)

Can you please pm the link for the message board? I'd like to check out the focus groups.

I know of a place in Bala Cynwd that does them but they are too far. I am trying to find either a place online or in my area or close too it.

If you wouldn't mind answering, how did you know that summer75 was asking about your site, since you just became a member?

And, are these groupsonline?

Thanks,
Jo-Annehttp://www.wahm.com/forum/smileys/smiley1.gif

Here is the link for my message board: www.itsfree.proboards43.com (http://www.itsfree.proboards43.com) Just scroll down to the survey section and you will see the messages for the different focus groups and studies going on right now.

Whats nice is that for most of the studies you don't have to live in a particular area. Some are telephone studies and some are online studies. Of course through dannys list you can also find some in your area where you actually go to a building and participate and these pop up all the time as well. If you let us know what area you are in I will keep my eyes open for any in your area and post them. I run across a lot for different areas but don't post them unless I know we have a member in that area.

In case he doesn't come back and to be fair because it CAN look funny:

When you own a website you can look at your stats and see exactly where someone came from. When I check my stats and I see people are coming from a website I haven't been at, I always follow the link back to see if it is a forum or if someone has posted a link to my website on their website, etc. If someone posts in a forum about my website, I can click on the link in my stats and it will take me directly to the message.

Also look in the yellow pages book, not website. Try looking under Advertising, Marketing, Food, Medical etc. I hear companies mentioned on tv, radio, & from people attending the onsite studies.

I don't mind at all. I noticed on my stat program that some hits were coming from this forum. Since I did not recognize the site I wanted to see what was posted. To my surprise there was talk about scam so I had to register to respond to that accusation.

Thanks for the reminder about the yellow pages. With two kids running around screaming like chickens. I don't get on the phone much
