I noticed another post about gas and I thought it might be interesting (I almost said "it might be fun" but nothing about these high gas prices is fun! smileys/smiley11.gif)to see how much gas is in other areas. I am in Texas and it's currently at $2.95/gal. Edited by: Spa Diva

days. Hubby doesn't have to work again until Monday and we're
conserving gas.

Nashville, TN = $2.59-2.89 for Reg Unleaded
That will go up overnight, though. Heard we're running out of gas quickly. I-40 runs straight thru Nashville which is a major trucking lane East to West and the truckers have fueled up all day 100 gallons at a time. We're just about tapped out!

Phoenix, AZ - was around $2.55 yesterday morning. I went to fill up last night eventhough I had half a tank, but I knew the big jump was coming. I paid $2.63 I think last night and then by dinnertime tonight most of the stations here were at 2.99. A few still in the 2.80's somewhere.

Up to $2.99 this afternoon. We went by one station that said $2.69 and they had all the pumps covered. We're assuming that they are out of gas. Not sure though.

2.83 a gal. It cost me $42 to fill up my car yesterday!smileys/smiley5.gif
When I bought my car(5 years ago) it was around $21 to fill it up and
last month it was $33 to fill up. I am thankful that I don't
drive something bigger and feeling bad for those that do. I hope
that it goes back down soon for all of us! Where is the gas fairy
when you need her? J/Ksmileys/smiley36.gif
Kim, I had no idea that a semi-truck could hold 100 gallons. The idea
of having to spend that much to fill you tank me me feelsmileys/smiley11.gif! Man this is so hard on EVERYONE!!!

Here in Vermont it's $3.14 in most stations that are National chains (Exxon, Mobil, Citgo). The smaller stores still have their prices around $2.89 - $2.98 and they have people lining up to get gas.
I can't understand how come gas prices go up two or three times in one day. People were saying that as they sat at the pump waiting for their turn, the prices went up. If there isn't a wholesale gas delivery then the price should remain the same. If the gas in the tank is from last week - then the price should stay stable until they get another wholesale delivery. They haven't paid any additional money for it yet. That annoys me with some gas companies. I avoid them and go with the local owned company down the street.

Maryland $3.10 - $3.50.
Thankfully my hubby carpools to work. (Due to illness he can't drive so it is more necessity than for conservation purposes.) This does save us a lot of money!
The kids and I stick close to home most of the time. When we go out we do 3-4 errands at a time, but I have always done it that way. If I am going to get us up, dressed, and out of the house, I want to do EVERYTHING possible when we are out and about.

In western NY it is $3.09 - $3.19. I can't imagine being a college student that commutes to school.A third of their hrly pay is going to gas. And you know they aren't driving the most fuel efficient cars.

Robin we just don't go out now unless we have to. I put $40 in our truck two days ago and got just over the 1/4 mark. It would cost a fortune now to fill it up. We will just sit at home a little more and hope that the price will go down. It is ridiculous for sure. Price gougers are what they all are.

For everyone who did post the state they live in (some of you forgot smileys/smiley36.gif) it looks like prices are worse on the East Coast. Does it appear that way to the rest of you?
I'm in Southern California and I always thought we had the highest gas prices. While it is about $2.95 a gallon (today, Friday) I'm just shocked and stunned at some of the prices the rest of you have been quoting. Holy Cow!
