I want to discuss Personal Sales only. smileys/smiley1.gifTeam sales is another topic!

What do you need to do minimum to maintain your consultant status?

Do they reward selling over a certain amount per month?

In all honesty, even though my company has a very minimum quota to be a consultant, I think the companies that do have quota's grow faster because it keeps the importance of building a business in the front of your mind. Those who don't have quota's attract more discount buyers, which does not help the company grow.

Discovery Toys is $100 a year to be a consultant.

You need to sell $100 every 3 months to be considered active, which means you get mailings.

No pressure what so ever. But on the flip side, if you maintain $500 in PSV per month, you get a 5% bonus, and if you sell over $1000 you get a 10% bonus.

How is your company set up for quota's and earning bonuses on direct commission only?

To remain active we must sell $150 every three months. They say you'll lose consultant status after another 3 months, but I haven't seen that inforced. smileys/smiley2.gif I've got people who haven't ordered in almost a year and are still in the system.

We must sell $1000 to get our team bonus, and we get other perks as well. At $2000 we get a bonus on our personal sales, and again at $7500. There are always so many incentives, andfor the most part they break them intodifferent levels of business. So even "hobbyists" can earn some fantastic recognition and of course, the "stuff"!

Our philosophy is that to have a business you should be doing one show a week. At a national average of over $500/show, there's no reason anyone with a "business" shouldn't be selling $2000/month. Any less than that really is just an activity. And that's nota bad thing! I've seen many women's lives touched and changed by being involved on a part-time basis. It's wonderful to see! Even my business falls into that category sometimes. smileys/smiley9.gif And yet I never feel like the opportunity for rewards and recognition are sparse. There are so many carrots that sometimes I feel like i have to pick and choose which ones fit my business at the time. Not a bad problem to have!Edited by: AtHomeLeah

Both my direct sales companies don't have minimums. Actually, the
MAD Program requires SOME kind of activity every 90 days to stay
active. clever kingdom! does not have any minimums.

With Big Yellow Box you have to have $300 every rolling 3 months to be active, but you also get a 3 month grace period beyond that. For bonuses, you get an extra 5% at $1200 in a month and an extra 10% at $2400 in a month.

I'm new to SimplyFun, but I'm pretty sure you need $400 every rolling 3 month period to stay active. They often have consultant incentives for sales, but nothing that is ALWAYS there like a sales volume bonus. But you do get a permanent commission increase as you promote - even just to Sr Consultant.

Forgot to mention that with both of mine there are sales volume bonuses. Can't remember them off hand, but they're there!

With DRMY! There is no minimun to remain a consultant. We used to have a $500 in any rolling 3 months, but they did aay with that this summer. Now you are consultant for a year from your sign up date - you can choose to renew then and the cost is based on sales from the previous year. I am not sure of the xact figures, but I think if you have sold over $2500 the prior year it is nothing, under that the renewl fee will never go above $50.

With your monthly sales, your commision increases based on the amount of sales for the month, regardless of your level of leadership. Team bonuses include your personal sales as well, and kick in once you haveyour firstconsultant under you.

The Bittersweet Candle Company doesn't have any minimum order requirements to maintain your spot as a consultant. They have promotions on and off for sales but no bonus criteria to meet to get a bonus each month (outside of your team sales, etc.).

Petra has no monthly requirements. You do have to submit a party every few months or so to stay active, which means on the mailing list. A party with Petra just has to be at least 3 orders and a minimum of $100 retail sales. So that's great for people who have to take time off due to illness or personal issues.

Petra rewards us for having $2000 retail sales in a calendar month by giving us a 5% bonus. It's so easy to hit that. I did it in 3 parties this month. And super selling season is upon us so I know it will be even less of a challenge for several months.

Petra also gives year end recognition for personal sales starting at $10,000 and every $10,000 after that. Also for $1,000 parties they give prizes. Petra gives away the most beautiful jewelry imaginable and make us feel so special because they do all of this at a very formal award ceremony. The gals say it's like going to the Grammy's or something. Everyone dressed to the nine's and getting to walk across the stage to get their prizes.

For the first time ever, Petra has included in their recruiting and sales promotion for the trips, the ability to win them off of just sales. It's always been just recruits or a combination of sales and recruits. Now they have it fixed so that the ladies that love selling but have absolutely no desire to recruit can go out and bust tail for6 months and win the trips on just sales. So, that's exciting for alot of ladies.

Take care everyone and God Bless!

We do not have a monthly quota, but you must have $100 in sales within a 3 month period. If you become inactive, all you do is lose your message board entrance, once you put in a $100 sales or order, you get right back in.

With lia sophia, to remain active and receive the monthly mailings and receive the personal discount, you must have $250 in sales in a quarter. You can however, re-gain your active status at any time by submitting a qualified show ($250).

The Traveling Vineyard requires you to do 2events every other month...no sales $ attached to that. However, to be reimbursed for our wine we bring, we need $150 in sales at an event.

With SilverWear starting for consultants who sign up after September
1st there is just a $20 per month minimum, and that's REALLY easy to
do. (There is no minimum and the sign up is free for anyone who
joins before September 1st)

They're still structuring their program as far as bonuses go, but right
now the percentage you earn is based on the size of your team.
Anywhere from 30 to 40%

I've also just joined Discovery Toys today and am REALLY excited about that!

There is no dollar amount with The Traveling Vineyard.

An active consultant is doing 1 event (call it a "party" or a "show") every other month.

There are awards offered for reaching a certain goal, which could earn many different types of product.Edited by: Mellonie

Watkins~

We have no minimums, no quotas, ever! smileys/smiley17.gif

With each achievement level, we get bonuses, title change, reward points towards gifts and prizes, and an achievement pin~

We have a very minimal fee to renew after one year (actually 13 months), and that is even waived after achieving a certain level.

Edited to add: You have a great point Debbie. Folks join Watkins for different reasons, and Watkins is totally OK with that.

We have multiple associates making in the mid - 6 digit area, and we have folks that do join just for the discount.

Watkins may be the exception sincewe have been in business for 137 years~Edited by: bianca5454

With Arbonne there is no minimum to stay a consultant. You must have $100 a month to get paid on your team though. It is nice because then people can buy wholesale. They get the discount and they are a consultant but they just want the products for them.

Heritage Makers has no monthly minimum and pays 20% on every sale. If
you want your team over-rides, it's $500.00 a month and you get them on
every person under you as soon as they start. They offer trips and
incentives and I've earned half of the the cruise in February in just
two months. You also get leadership bonuses and income to provide
training etc.

If you sell $2000.00 in a one month period, they pay you, and then put
500 points in an emergency bank account for you, so if you have a
family emergency or just want a month off, you have your "qualifying"
amount accrued to get your bonuses anyway!

Usborne Books also has no monthly minimums which I am VERY happy about, and Usborne Books is growing fantastically! If there was a monthly minimum, I myself would have thought long and hard about joining, because I don't want to be forced to sell if I don't want to. For example, I had my second daughter 4 months ago and she was a difficult baby. There was NO way I was going to do any work, and I didn't, and when I was ready I just jumped back in!

We also receive bonuses as follows:

Earn a 5% cash bonus when net sales are at least $700 in a month's timeframe, and earn a 3% cash bonus when net sales total $350-699.99 in a one-month timeframe.

There are also bonuses for supervisors and executive supervisors when their monthly net sales are at least $700, but since I'm not there I don't know what that one is smileys/smiley2.gif

RE: minimums.Mia Bellahas a monthly candle club $39.95/month that is the only minimum (includes 16 oz candle, a dozon votives, and a Bella Bar/soap and a web site) This is the only "min". Then (only if we want to) we can order more50% off or more on candles and 35% off soap and we set our own prices.

To get a team commission-nothing different - just be in the candle club min above and we still get 10% off our first level and it goes on 5% through the levels and diff percents. I likemy candle of the month package every month (Like a present) and still get residual and not need to sellif I don't want to! It is on autoship so I don't have to worry about it, mess with paperwork and I can cancel anytime.

I agree with what you are saying Deb about having some type of min so that you keep people interested and motivated. I think that is important to a point - it should not be too high a level to achieve at a part time level and needs to be convenient to take time with our families.

Passion Parties requires $600 in 6 months. This is easy to acheive, all
you would need is a few parties in 6 months. If you don't have $600
then you go inactive.

Consultants receive a cash bonus starting at $2000 retail.

So, it's like this:

2000=100

3000=150

4000=300

5000=375

6000=600

7000=700

8000=800

9000=900

10000=1000

With Longaberger, you have to sell $1000 in a year's time. This is very easy. No monthly minimums. Although, the more you sell a month the better the incentives.
Every time you sell $1000 inone month, they automatically send you $100 in free products. Also, the more you sell, the more % discount you receive on samples.
When you and your recruits each sell at least $500 in the same month, you receive a percentage of their sales.
Longaberger also runs different incentives for consultants based on sales and productivity. They give away free products or cash.
I am sooo about getting free stuff smileys/smiley4.gif. It makes me work harder each month!

With Mary Kay, you only need to put in a $200 order in 1 year to remain a consultant. This is what a lot of "personal use" consultants do.

To remain "active" and keep your 50% commission on what you sell, you need to put in a $200 order every three months.By three months, meaning the month you put in the order and the two months following (put in a $200 order in September, you keep your consultant discount for September, October, and November)
