The fax machine is still on the fritz! So please have all new
recruits still use the 303-296-0759 fax number when sending in their w9 forms. This goes to another department, but will be forwarded to Distributor Relations for processing.
REMEMBER GCC now pays for your sales taxes! You no longer need to
obtain a tax license to sell Greeting Cakes. The tax is figured into
the cost of the cakes... However... Distributors no longer can sell
to Retail Outlets. Retailers are able to become wholesale buyers with
the company, but due to the tax laws Distributors may no longer act as
a Wholesale Middleman between GCC and Retailers. GCC distributors must sell directly to the consumer via person to person or internet sales.
Remember, GCC will never send out cakes without labels. We do have
labels that can be hand crafted and for $35 you can have a custom
label designed. But we do not send them without labels.

Mary,
I'm not clear on the custom label. Will this be a label that does NOT have the GCC name & addy on it? Also, how are we considered IC's if the company is handling inclusion oftaxes and candictate WHO we sell to - wouldn't that make us Sales Reps for the company = NOT distributors and/or Independent Contractors. If GCC is including tax in the cost of the cakes to us - then they are basically selling to us as retailers also. This may be walking on a fine line with IRS for us.Edited by: mrchndsr

The custom label is a label one can have made, through the GCC, that has your specific company's name on it, a baby announcement, a wedding favor customized w/ the bride/groom name and date, ect. The GCC label will be on the bottom of the cake w/ the list of ingredients and the GCC info.
As far as the new tax thing goes, I can't answer this question. I just got this info yesterday. I will try to send the question to home office and see what their reply is.

Specifically - the label on the TOP - around the border. Are you saying that this $35 charge will be for a label that will have 'my' company name (NOT GCC) and 'my' city & state (NOT Arvada, CO) ?...just want clarification.
