I have heard so much about school fundraisers, but I don't know how they work. Could someone explain to me in detail how to have a school fundraiser or any kind of fundraiser for that matter. Forgive me for asking crazy questions but I'm still learning.

Hey, I am not sure if this will help much but I am planning on presenting a fundraiser to my son's school. I am simply going to ask to pass out the holiday catalogues with the kids when they go home and then put a deadline on product orders. As initiative for the school I am going to offer 20% of my commission as a donation. I am planning on attaching a business card to each catalogue along with an invitation to a biz op meeting at my home. I am hoping that this will really get the word out about Arbonne and who knows, I pray that others will be interested in the business as I am.smileys/smiley5.gif

I am thinking about doing this but wondering how to do without spending
a lot on catalogues. There are 600 kids in the school,
buying 600 catalogs would be a lot of expediture. I was
thinking of making up some fliers with some samples of products they
can buy then attaching my business card, maybe offering a % off some
products and then donating a certain amount of profit back to the
school.

Anyone have any more thoughts or have done this?

I put together a Hot Sellers List with items like the body gel, cleansing lotion, hand lotion, herbal foot cream, sea salt scrub, baby set, Get well soon vitamins (for those teachers!) and a few other items with pictures, a brief description, and price. I know when I purchase from fundraisers I have a set price to spend and usually find an item matching that price. That way you don't have to purchase a bunch of catalogs if you don't want to. You just need to get copiesof the list. I put together a packet w/ the fundraising letter from the files here, one catalog and a gift certificate to the person in charge of making the decision and mailed it to schools in the area, after talking to them on the phone to see if they were interested. I hope they will be! My plan is to try to get each students mom to sign up as a WB. That way, their child would get a 50% profit if they were able to get a $700 order. (RSVP) And I would get a nice bonus the next month!
