First I just want to applaud smileys/smiley32.gifwhoever had the idea to use the basket at the end for the recruiting promotion! I have gone back and cannot find the thread to thank the person personallysmileys/smiley17.gif!
This will be a bit lengthy, but some may find part of it helpful so bear with me:
<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />Just wanted to update you on last night’s SPA. It was supposed to be 8 gals in their 30’s. Prime Spa! 3 called at the last minute to cancel. So down to 4 gals and my hostess. Started an hour late because none of them had eaten and my hostess insisted on feeding them before we started. Since there were only 4 I figured I could still finish on timeJ So we do the spa portion, I ask for bookings(oops….to schedule spa escapesJ) and got 2. So we move on to the "Hydrotherapy SPA facial" and I ask if anyone is currently using a skin care regimen and all 5 raised their hands so I asked which products. They all said "Arbonne" at the same time and began talking over each other how much they loved the products, how their faces glowed, and how soft their skin was.
Well, I was about to skip the facial and I thought to myself…What would Kim Alexander do? She would kindly, but spiritedly share our product and ask for feedback comparing the two. So that’s exactly what I did. I smiled and asked for feedback on our product compared to Arbonne and told them they were the first to admit to using Arbonne at any of my spa’s. This kind of took them by surprise and the hostess proceeded to tell them Arbonne was my main competitor. Well they all started stumbling over each other apologizing and I smiled and said "no worries", but I am interested in feedback when we are done.
We continued with the facial and afterwards I did my spiel and presented by "dream bag". When I presented the "wholesaler" opportunity 2 of the girls said they just took advantage of "Arbonne’s" similar "distributer" opportunity a week ago. OH WELL (continue with smileJ). As I presented my sets which were still in their set bags, I pulled each product out and placed it in the basket I bought (cute, round, low, circular, wicker basket from Garden Ridge). When done, I passed the basket around, and presented the "Ultimate" set for $250 and gave a 3 minute pause as they digested. Then lowered the boom! $99! They screamed "Get Out", "No Way". I decided to take a short break and set up my ordering area (thanks to Shannon O’s suggestion) but could overhear them talking about Arbonne vs. BC.
End of story…..Basket worked wonders! Signed up 3 (1 of which also did Arbonne’s deal but liked BC better because Arbonne did not offer MDA). Couldn’t qualify, but maybe Shannon G. can work her magic as I raced in this morning to sign them all up for her BeautiU training on 4/14. I will also take them to lunch that day.
Message…….NEVER get discouraged when you have guests using competitors products! I know this is long winded, but had to share.
Stay positive!

I am brand new to Beauticontrol. What is the $250 "Ultimate Set" for $99. I know the sign on is $99 - are those the products you displayed? Thanks!

That is great, Kari!
I had a similar spa a while ago with everyone using Arbonne...the hostess' sister was an Arbonne rep and I didn't know until there but, like you, I did my thing and the show was ok. I only got one possible booking (which still hasn't happened) as all the other women had already commited to host shows from Arbonne but hey, I did my best and got some sales.
I say you did a great job and 3 recruits is awesome!
The Ultimate Set is everything you got for signing. Such a great deal!

The "Ultimate Pamper Me Set" is everything that comes in the BeautiCase. I use a technique at my SPAs by selling in Sets.
My "Treat your Face" set is cleanser, toner, scrub, and moisturizer discounted 10% if they by the set.
My "Face the Future" set is MDA cream, MDA buffer, and Cell Block C also discounted 10% if they buy the set.
My "Spa Diva" set is SOH, ER Hand Therapy, Gold Eye Creme, and Lip Apeel and also discounted 10% for the set.
My "Spa Queen" set includes some items not in the "Ultimate" set, but I just put those aside after presenting the individual sets. Spa Queen is Theraputic Bath Minerals (which I soak my washcloths in), Save Your Sole Foot Salve (which I will change to HS Foot Creme next month), WT Green Tea Mask, and Nourishing Eye Pads which are also discounted 10% as a set.
The $99 opportunity is normally worth $250. When they flip their set sheet over, I have all the products in the BeautiCase listed at $250 then drop the bomb on them that it is only $99 this month.
Hope this helpssmileys/smiley2.gif

Kari that is AWESOME! Aren't you glad you didn't get discouraged and decide to turn tail and run? You have three new consultants and who knows what the future holds? You're that much closer to the trip (after they qualify and I hope they do for you) and building your team as we speak. Great work...keep it up!

That's why we're all here...to share our ideas and grow our businesses together.
Congratulations on your spa (or spizzle as my husband refers to them). That is SO awesome. I will never prejudge again. One of my very good friends sells Arbonne, or tries to, but she is considering joining BC. She's a hairdresser and would do much better letting people try our overnight hand treatment and things like that.
You gave us some additional encouragement to keep going and keep positive!

Alissa, I love that your husband calls them "spizzles" lol..that's adorable, and hey, whatever makes them feel more comfortable and like part of the team! Sounds like something my husband would come up with lol. You are right..we are all here to help each other and Kari's post was so inspirational. I have been away for a while, but I have truly missed all the sisterhood and great ideas from this board..thanks everyone!
ALmost forgot...Kari I LOVE the way you do your sets too!

Wow - you guys amaze and inspire me! Love it!
When I do my set baskets I sometimes say - " I know people say that
good things come in small packages - but since I discovered
beauticontrol, I;ve learned that GREAT things come in BIG BASKETS!......
sounds kinda cheesy - but it helps get peoples attention while I review
the sets and display just how much they get....

Kari, Don't worry about sharing the Mantra...it came from leadership!! They had all the DIQs chanting it, so it wasn't really mine to begin with!!!
Just one big happy family!!
Spasister...I LOVE that wording!! I'll have to fit that one in!
Thanks girls!
