In preparing for the launch of Mineral Girlz, the Senior Consultants are brainstorming on themes and scents for parties, etc. I'm trying to figure out what I want to order to have on hand for my business.
I would really appreciate some help from those of you who have teens in your life.
What are some favorite body lotion scents?
What are some favorite lip gloss flavors?
Also, if you have had a spa party for your tweens/teens I would really like to hear what you did, how it went, if the girls had a good time, etc.
thanks all!

My girls like all the fruity scents. (16 & 18 yrs old). They like some florals as well like Freesia, Sweet Pea.
As far as lip gloss, anything goes! The fruitier the better. I think the ones they don't really like are the vanilla like flavors. They love the berries, the citrus flavors and melons. Chocolate isn't a huge hit, believe it or not, with them. They like the cola flavors like root beer and dr. pepper, too.
Girls love the parties, but be prepared for low sales at the shows. Unless their mom's are with them of course.

My daughter loves Vanilla. In fact her favorite body butter and lip butterfrom the Body Shop is Vanilla spice. She is 16, but not a typical teenager as far as fashion etc. She has her own style of dress, loves to have multi colored hair, wears a lot of black, grey and white, stuff like that.

Thanks for the input. It seems the scents are pretty typical everywhere I have researched.
I'm not really concerned with low sales. I've done some research and it seems many teens don't have a problem coming up with money for makeup and bath & body products. smileys/smiley36.gif

My daughter is ALL about the bath and body type items! She too is into the fruitier and the like, not flowers at all LOL! But she's the little goth chick so I can't see floral.

Some of the colors in the eyeshadow are pretty wild (in my opinion) but it's fun.
I recently found about some great selling points Mineral Girlz will offer.
A create your own kit will be available for girls to purchase for parties. The guests will be able to create their personal scents.
And teens (or any age!)can join and get all the benefits of regular consultants. That means, in addition to a discount,TEENS WILL GET THEIR OWN WEBSITE!!! They will be paid in free product, rather than receiving commission.

My girls lare not teens yet, but I wanted to give their votes. They love almost any lotion scent. Right now, their favoriteis chocolate. They also like anything that smells like cookies are baking (vanilla, brown sugar, etc.). For lip gloss, they like the fruity flavors.
This also doesn't go with the teen set, but I have done severalMom and Me spas. The girls and Moms alternate pampering each other. It isa special time for each of them.
My director has done birthday party spas for teen girls. She charges a set fee for the spa and then offers party favors at an extra charge.
I hope you can find some of this information helpful.

Thanks Kim. That is very useful.
We will have party kits for young girls that want to purchase them for spa birthday parties. And, we are supposed to have a chocolatekit or settoo. So, it sounds like we are right in line with some of the things some girls like. They do not have to be teens.
The spa parties sound great. It's nice forgirls to be able to choose something that is not too childish, but not too grown up either.
I'm thinking I can do the mommy-daughter parties with the two companies I'm with. Mineral Girlz for the girls and Handmade Natural Beauty for the moms.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Well I agree with most of what is said I can tell you depending on the area you are in some teens have money to spend.
Also a great way to boost sales and get your business going would be to contact local dance studios, cheer teams, color guard teams, youth groups ect. And pitch a fundraiser party. Basically this is where the girls would each be required to invite five friends or family members to come to the party. The group would provide light refreshments, You give a speach about why the group is trying to raise funds at the beginning than play some games, than let the group know you will be sitting in a certain area to take any orders and let them come up to your display table and try things on. Parents love this because it is a fundraiser where they aren't having to do the work yet the girls are earning money for their group.

Oh, that is a great idea. That made me think of something else.
The teams could have their own free website to collect sales. They can leave it up permanently as an ongoing fundraiser or for any amount of time they want.
I'm going to have to start collecting contacts and send some information.
thanks!!
