So far that gives us 20 companies! Of course there's probably more. Some of these companies periodically offer sign up specials, otherwise the above is the latest info. Some companies I contacted and never heard from, others I just discovered, so if any of you are with these companies would you please fill in the gaps.As for me, I'm currently with three of the above.

I'm with Ella-Bags, Jazzy Purses, and Maddy Moo Creations (in reverse order of signup). I know it's too many companies, but one company was having trouble and it was a matter of seizing the moment with the other two. I'll probably narrow it down to one based on which is more reliable & popular with my customer base. What's great about both Ella Bags and Jazzy Purses though is that they are always offering sales (to the consultants and/or online). I love purses!! But I can't even imagine going back to making 25% or 30% commission on something.

How much success are you having selling from 3 different lines? Do you do parties or vendor fairs or trunk shows? Do you find certain customers only want to purchase from one of the companies or do you just combine them all when you do an event and then break the order up appropriately when you close everything out? Not trying to be nosy, just curious how you keep everything straight when selling for 3 different companies offering the same products.

LOL, I do understand about the commission structure. I can't understand earning 15% on a bag, when other companies offer on average 25% - 30%. I also looked into wholesaling/drop shippingbags and the commission ranged anywhere from 30% - 50%, but I don't want to purchase a ton of custom purses since they are supposed to be unique to the customer(there may be a way around that though). Anyway, as for party plans, there is one companyI'm with, Ella,that offers up to 50%. This commission is based on total sales during the year and will last throughout the year once earned (it's like $6,000 in sales) and then you start back at 30%in the beginning of your next year.

As for what it's like selling for 3 companies, I'm not selling with Maddy Moo, unfortunately. Things are supposed to get better, and I truly hope they do, but with the delays I experienced, I decided I'd stopping promoting this company. Hence why I joined the other two. Right now Jazzy Purses is selling more for me (with older customers) than is Ella Bags, and I love some of the designers that are featured with Jazzy, but I'm also very excited about Ella (there's more products & options). I recently got my kit and aside from the finished bags I ordered, it comes with sample bags (green or black cloth bags), closures, ribbons, fabrics and it really makes a world of difference to see these items in person than solely over the computer!

So right now I'm dual promoting these companies and will have an open house in the near future so everyone can get a better idea on how much fun it is todesign your own bag & accessories.

With Latasia, I'm guessing you earn 50% or more commission?

I almost want to say the girl that's selling under me is a producer of the bags for Jazzy, not for certain though. I bought one of her personal bags from her site and absolutely LOVE it. One thing I think is great about a couple of these companies is that they use talented women that work at home to make these bags. Ella sounds really cool with being able to actually design your own bag.

Yes, I'm earning 50% up front on all my sales with Latasia. When you start, you make 40% until you sell your first $1500 and then you are bumped to 50% commission from then on. You don't have to maintain a certain amount of sales each month, or year, to keep the 50%. Another thing that I'm used to is that the hostess program is 100% free. So, it's a true 50% commission that I earn.

I can't say I'd never sell for a company that doesn't offer 50% because ALOT of companies may offer 40 or 50% but then you have to pay for the hostess credits and such. Plus, I'm actually with Marlo Quinn and they are 25% but I'm with them more for personal use than anything else. I haven't pushed their product line at all because of some bugs being worked out right now. I feel like Latasia is where the Lord wants me right now but I don't know where He'll put me in the future so me saying that I can't see working for 25 or 30% commission really wasn't true. If He wants me with a company as my main source of income that pays that, then that's where I'll be. I love Latasia and pray that this is the company that I'll be with til I retire, I work it like it will be. But, you never know what the future holds.

I pray I didn't come off sounding like I was looking down my nose at the commissions. That wasn't my intention at all and if I did sound that way, please accept my apologies. I was a Director with Petra Fashions making 25% and I was making great money!! I'd still be with them if they hadn't shut their doors last year. It just really surprised me when I was blessed with Latasia at the beginning of this year and made such great money so sometimes I look at a 25% commission rate and it makes me wonder if I could ever go back to making that again as a main source of income. But, like I said above, if the Lord convicted me about going to another company if anything ever happens to Latasia and that company is on that commission level, I'd do it in a heartbeat and knowing from being with Petra that you can make good money, I know I would make good money again.

Ok, LOL, I think I'm going in circles now. I would love to see some things from Ella. Putting together my own design for a bag intrigues me. If it's possible to get a catalog or see a site feel free to PM me with the site or to ask for my mailing addy.

Well, I loved Maddy Moo bags until a $98 one that I got broke about a month after getting it. It was one that could be momogrammed and it was adorable! It had the feet on the bottom of it and bamboo handles. One of the screws in the horseshoe shaped thing that holds the bamboo handle to the purse came out, of course somewhere that I couldn't find it once I realized what happened, and I haven't been able to find another to put back in it. I have 3 more of the regular bags and they are cute but too small. I like something big enough to carry my Latasia portfolio in and also some cattys. These would hang up halfway down the purse because they narrowed at the bottom. The one I got from the girl that's on my team narrows too but it's wide enough even at the bottom for everything to go all the way down and it's tall enough that you don't see a bunch of crap hanging out the top of it. But dang it, I LOVED the one with my initials on it! It was hot pink with lime green and white gingham inside and it had a lime green ribbon around the outside and my initial monogrammed in lime green. LOOOOOVED IT!! I miss it cuz it was so me! The new one is me too, it's zebra faux fur at the top with a hot pink ribbon around it then cotton zebra print at the bottom and the inside is hot pink, TOO CUTE!! Gotta have my bright, quirky colors! Next I want a purse with a bling bling fleur de lis (sp?) on it. Thought I'd get one for Christmas cuz hubby's seen me admire them but nope. Oh well, maybe Valentine's Day, LOL.

Well, I loved Maddy Moo bags until a $98 one that I got broke about a month after getting it. It was one that could be momogrammed and it was adorable! It had the feet on the bottom of it and bamboo handles. One of the screws in the horseshoe shaped thing that holds the bamboo handle to the purse came out, of course somewhere that I couldn't find it once I realized what happened, and I haven't been able to find another to put back in it. ............ It was hot pink with lime green and white gingham inside and it had a lime green ribbon around the outside and my initial monogrammed in lime green. LOOOOOVED IT!! I miss it cuz it was so me! The new one is me too, it's zebra faux fur at the top with a hot pink ribbon around it then cotton zebra print at the bottom and the inside is hot pink, TOO CUTE!! Gotta have my bright, quirky colors!

Ahh, sounds like you purchased a designer bag, a Belle Bag (and it IS very cute). I can't see any warranty information on the designer's website http://www.bellebags.com, but I would contact the designer directly and find out what repair arrangements can bemade. Sometimes these companiesfix the bag for free or for a nominal fee.

For the design your own bags what is the shipping time?

I did not realize there were that many companies. Thanks for the list. As a purse designer myself my goal for 2007 is to offer home parties locally with my purses and other crafts.

It seems to vary with each company. Ready-made seems to beabout 2 weeksand custom made runs 3 - 5 weeks (also for missyroth).

I'm guessing that what may and hashappened to a companythat only uses 1, 2, or 3seamstresses is that if there's a dramatic increase involume these shipping times are going to extend beyond this point. So I think the best thing a company can do is bring new consultants in slooowly.In fact 1154 Lill Studio has been closed for months for new consultant sign ups (reopened this week), BagDADDY isclosed, Zag Bags, and alsoMaddy Moo Creations.If planned accordingly, this is a very smart move, it allows the company timeto make adjustments for increased demands in production, w/o affecting the craftsmanship of the product or their current customer base.

Do you have a website? I'd love to see your purse and what other items you create. Of course, I wish you luck on your plans for the new year. It really is an awesome concept.
