Hi ALL-
I am new with Mia Bella. I have my first home party tonight.
I have done a couple of craft fairs already, but this is my first home party.
Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks
Jamie

Good luck tonite Jamie!
For my home parties, I use a few index cards to help me along with my presentation - to make sure I don't forget any of the important benefits of our candles.
This is just me, but I never do party games. The only thing I do is ask guests to look over the scent list and choose which scent most describes their personality. I find this is a good way to get people to actually read the list of scents. And since Sex on the Beach is so far down on the list (for some reason, most ladies choose this one!), this introduction gives the guests a good chance to see at least a few scents that appeal to them.
Take brochures with our up-to-date scent list. Have all the stock you have on-hand. It's probably a bit late now, but I recommend a couple of regular jar candles to show as a comparison. I keep a half-burned Yankee to show how unevenly it burns. I also keep a bargain jar that is so full of black, it's GROSS!
Of course, light a jar in the main room of your presentation. I also light a votive in the bathroom the guests will be using. I also have a bottle of hand wash in the bathroom.
Keep your presentation relatively short, then answer questions and allow guests to sniff away. Remember to invite bookings for more parties along the way. And go over the COTM a couple of times and the business opportunity once.

HAVE FUN!

Thanks for the great reply -
I already have some sample non-soy jars that I have at craft show for examples.
Do you go over all the products or do you just talk about the company for a few minutes then let everyone smell?
I am thinking that I will just talk a few minutes then let everyone smell and see the products first hand.
I am taking many things that I have in stock for cash and carry.
Anyone else have any suggestions?
Thanks
Jamie

There was a game someone played and they posted about it - basically it ended up being a battle of votives or something of the sort. It seems like a lot of fun........ anyone remember what that was?

Well it went good for my first time............I did not stick to my plan but I sold the products well. I ended up not playing anygames.
Overall everyone had I great time and I was able to answer all questions asked.
I think my husband will have to sit throgh my presentation a couple of more times so I can memorize what I want to say and how I want to present it better.
There were 8 people in attendance, I sold mostly cask and carry and many gift baskets. I sold around 350.00 worth of stuff.
I am very happy with my first show I just need to practice a little more.
Thanks for all the advice.

Good for you! You did it!
Just talk from your heart. Let people know about this scent-sational company, your team, where you are going...
Find out where THEY WANT TO GO.smileys/smiley20.gif
And keep it SIMPLE!!
Let these great products sell themselves!smileys/smiley2.gif

Jamie,
It sounds like you did a great job and now you have the hardest one behind you. The first one is always the toughest. Eight people for your first show is great. That is a comfortable amount of people to have the first time. How did the skillets you got from me work for ya? I hope you had time to use them. Aren't they cute? Congrats and I hope you have many more parties that follow.

Hi Jamie,
Way to go! Sounds to me like you did pretty well for yourself! As the ladies have already stated, you got over your first one and that is probably the hardest.
I agree with Lori, just be yourself and keep it simple. The products really do sell themselves! I would suggest that you use a simmer pot and melts next time around to expand your sales!
