I think I read that many of you were doing open houses/holiday parties. How did those go? Keep us informed!

Hi,
I had an Open House two weeks ago. I did it in conjunction with a former co-worker who has her own floral business on the side. She also makes hand-made cards.
I got good volume for the afternoon and a business builder out of it so I considered it a success! It was a miserable day so my turn-out was probably diminished because of it but I got about 12 people and everyone bought something. I DID NOT have a lot of cash and carry and last year I got stuck with a lot of product. For me, I feel like it's hard to anticipate what's going to sell so I'd rather just do orders. And in my case it was not a big deal because those who attended are local.
In short, I'm glad I did it. It was very casual and my RVP just walked around talking to people and gauged people's interest that way. Those who asked more probing questions got most of her attention and then she'd so an informal biz opp with them.
