If you were to find a candle company that you really like, and they had offered wholesale, would you be responsible for getting insurance of some kind? Or is the the candle makersduty or both?My mother in law was wondering about that. smileys/smiley1.gif

If you purchasing wholesale from a company it should be the candle company's responsiblity to have insurance to cover the candle. You, should at least have insurance to cover your purchases when traveling, setting up at craft shows and so on.

I have insurance on my candles since I'm the manufacturer and that would cover any mishaps with the candles itself and if God forbid someone files a lawsuit against me. But my wholesaler has insurance covering the items that she has purchased for her storefront.

Thanks this helps alot. Does your wholesaler have insurance to cover loss, theft, things like that or for lawsuit purposes? My mother in law wants to sell at crafts shows and so forth. Thanks for answering my questions.

HI Robin -

We are distributors through Mia Bella. They are responsible if something happens while the person is burning the candle correctly. Any change in the candle, like making something from the wax (like Tealights) they would not cover.

But if you are at a craft show they are not responsible for theft, you would be. Not sure what kind of insurance you would get for that. Call your local insurance agent and just ask around.

Hope this helped.
