Hi,
I am getting ready to place my first order, and wanted to pick your brains! What do you recommend in scents, and products for a 1st time order. I am going to be having an open house, and I have a party booked, not sure which will be first.
Also, are there Props that I need for setting up a table, or do you just place the products out on the table?
Thanks,

Hi Debbie,
I would order the fast start pack. That will give you a case of jars and the sample bag too! The sample bag is awesome beucase it gives you samples of EVERY candle we offer!
Everyone LOVED that they could smell every scent and didnt mind not being able to take home their product that evening :)
The fast start also has some of the other products too. Buying the fast start also saves you some money if you were to buy everything separate.
For table decoration, maybe some fall foliage around your table. I had a really nice christmas table cloth for my party last year and I set up some boxes underneath the table cloth to create height and a place to set up my products nicely. Then I would suggest putting a couple little tins or votive holders with some coffee beans in them. That is for people to smell in between sniffing scents. It helps to clear your nose of any previous scents.
Just be creative. Maybe feature one scent like pastry shoppe and offer some baked goods for dessert or the pumpkin spice with some pumpkin decor around.
Just some thoughts!!
Good luck! smileys/smiley2.gif

Hey Debbie!smileys/smiley17.gif
I'm back from a great Dani Johnson weekend.
Feel free to call me on Monday. Have you decided what you would like for your first order?
The Fast Start Pack is a great tool.
Also, you may want to get a case of the top selling scents.
When I attended the Fall Fling, I placed an order, among other things, for a case of jars. I asked the office what the top selling scents are this month.
Choose scents that you love along with the best selling scents for fall/winter 2006 and people will love them.

Hi Debbie,
I'm glad that you posted this! I had the same question too! I am going to be doing mostly retailing at work and trying to sign up some reps. So I need a suggestion for a nice floral scent.
Best of luck with your party Debbie!smileys/smiley1.gif

Hi Yolanda!smileys/smiley17.gif
It was great chatting with you.smileys/smiley4.gif
There are SO MANY things to get and enjoy here, it's definitely hard to make a decision.
When I was at the Fall Fling in PA, I enjoyed one of the specials. I invested in a case of jars and opted for the lighter scents.
After a LOT of discussion with Lynn, the candle maker, the staff and other great MB people, I chose:
Angel Wings
Baby Powder
Clean Cotton
French Lavender
Fresh Linen
Green Tea
Lemon Verbena
Lilac
Mulled Cider - Lynn's all time favorite
Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper
Victorian Rose
Water Lily and Jasmine
and 3 cases of votives: Home for the Holidays, Oranges and Cloves, Sweet Orange and Chili Pepper (for scent samples).
I am burning the Lilac jar now and it's heavenly! Those are my floral scent suggestions.
I also bought a cinnamon bella bun to try out and fell in LOVE with it and the new holiday candle.

HI Lori,
It was great chatting on the phone with you as well! I think I just need to chill out and take it nice and slow....LOLsmileys/smiley2.gif
I have printed out the order list and I will calmly sit down tomorrow and write down my essentials. I will start small and grow big! After all Rome was not built in a day!
I think Lilac and Lavender sound nice. White Lily and Jasmine sound appealing as well. I think that I will call corporate on Friday and drive them silly.smileys/smiley36.gif

If you don't want to go with the sample pack, I would recommend you start with a 6 pack of jars in scents such as home for the holidays, pumpkin spice, creme brulee, christmas essence, sweet orange & chili pepper.(The food/baked scents sell well where I am -- but I am in Texas and everyone here is addicted to FOOD!) Then get as many mia melts as you can afford.
And...
I definitely recommend you get some Bella Buns with your order.
Burn a Bella Bunas soon as you get it!
Then you WON'T be able to STOP TALKING ABOUT THEM and SELLING THEM!
I never sold a Bella Bun until I burned one myself. Now I can't stop selling them because my enthusiasm sells them! By the time I'm done everyone thinks $8 for the little bun is a STEAL!
Once you burn one -- YOU will be AMAZED!!
I still cannot believe how that little bun fills three rooms in my home with such an amazing cinnamon bun aroma!
It is a MIRACLE BUN!!!

Hi Sherry,
Yes we can all feel your enthusiasm with the bella buns and thats great! I'm sure that is helping you sell them. I always show my excitement for our products and I think that sells a lot. I love the buns also, and lately they have been selling great for me. I just got another box delivered here today in fact, so I can start making my 28 in the skillets I have an order for. lol......
Thanks for sharing your waves of excitement with all of us. It rubs off on us too! lol..........smileys/smiley32.gif

HI everyone,
I love your input! It helps tremendously and is greatly appreciated, believe me.
I already have orders for 4 jars, and i'm going to get a Gardenia for one coworker who likes gardenias. So I just need one more scent to complete 6.
I am definately ordering the bella buns, I can't stop telling people how cute they are and I haven't even burned them yet!smileys/smiley36.gif
I am also going to order Mia Melts but now that the simmer pots are back ordered I don't know what to do. I wanted to buy at least 2 but now I'm stucksmileys/smiley19.gif
Debbie I don't know if you are aware of this or not but they are having a special on the brochures and catalogues. I am definately going to take advantage of those and you should too!

Thank you Yolanda. I saw that in another post, but when going onto my back office to order, I was unsure as to how to do that. I think I am going to call the company today and figure it out.
Thanks!
Thanks!
