Family comes first Ashleigh and that's exactly why we work from home so we can be there for our families - so don't beat yourself up.

Default Don't worry about taking time off...

Do what you need to do.

One of the things about being your own boss is you can take off when and if you need to.

I took off time when my sister was in the hospital and later when god finally ended her suffering on earth.

The business will be here when you are ready to get back to it. Time off also helps recharge the batteries.

Well, I couldn't take it anymore - I had to call and find out if the hospital was doing anything more for my mom. I called my step dad (my luck I'd call my mom when she was sleeping) and cleared up my understanding of what happened yesterday.

The CT scan DID in fact show a hole in her intestine and when they operated, the hole had sealed up, a rare but possible occurence. They won't be looking for anything else, but they'll go back in if something happens. What was originally supposed to happen (provided the hole hadn't sealed) was they were going to hook her up to a colostemy bag for 5-8 weeks which would require complete hospital stay and a couple operations. However, since the hole sealed itself, they're only requiring her to stay until she is able to pass a bowel movement.

When I spoke with my mom last night, you could hear it hurt her just to talk, which is why I'm still relying on emailing her. It stinks, but I don't want to put her into more pain than what she's already in. She didn't sleep at all last night, which doesn't surprise me, and my aunts and uncles have been visiting her so I feel better that she's got company. My step father is also running the business, which I have to give him huge props for because he already works 2 jobs that take up his schedule.

I'm confident that she will be okay, and like Karen said, it's good to take this time to recharge the batteries.

Yes, I am getting back into work mode, however, because I took the time away, I feel like I'm restarting with advertising. Luckily, someone I'd spoken to a while back that I was unable to get ahold of, emailed me asking to call her. So I'm crossing my fingers that she becomes a team member. I've been focusing my efforts on craigslist lately, because I'd stay consistent with other places and it was like wasting my time, but craigslist gets exhausting as well. I'm hoping that with the "sidejob" thing I'm doing, I'll be able to sink some money into better advertising geered more towards our target audience of home based business seekers.

I couldn't be more thankful for my fiancee giving me money from the paper route so that I can continue with Ameriplan and not have to worry so much about enrolling just anybody - that's been a main concern, I don't want to enroll JUST anybody, heck if I enrolled everyone who wanted to that had the money, I'd've hit RSD already and then some, but I guarantee you that most of those people would drop once they saw how much work is put into our businesses.

So I guess it was worth getting behind to be recharged and ready to jump in again and keep the energy pumpin'.

It does help to have a great support system, you are going to do just fine. Just stay focused on why you are doing it.
