Default Another prospective person

My MIL just made national today and she eats, sleeps and breathes Ameriplan. She has a regular 9-5 and she took this last week off to get where she needed for national. Since I met my Husband 6 years ago she has been trying to get me to sign up and said how she is trying to get to national. After attending a meeting today and watching everyone who made national get awarded and to just see that there are people doing this that are ding really well its made me want to jump on board.

My problem is Im not the kind of person to go up to people, my MIL will stop everyone in the street and give them a flyer or ask if they have insurance. Is this something I can work online and call up leads that I may get, Im sure she will be more than happy to help me but I dont want to let her know of my thoughts unless I know this is something I can do. She is such an inspiration and so dedicated to Ameriplan and Im afraid I may not be able to follow in those footsteps.

You are in a very good position if you do decide to join, this business can be built in many ways online or offline. And the more people that join you and your business your thoughts and view's will change...you will start to feel like she does and that will make it so very much easier over time.

When I started my first home business back in 2004 I was so scared I could hardly call anyone on the phone let alone give something to someone on the street but the more confidence you build up it will become easier! Take your time if baby steps are what you need then take them it's your business and you can take time to get more comfortable. Take it slow and don't put so much pressure on yourself. HTH

Blessings

Talking This company builds confidence!

It sounds like you've got an excellent leader to look up to - that's awesome!

Most people who come into Ameriplan are terrified to make their first phone calls. I've been with the company now for almost 4 months and I still get very nervous on the phone (boy I sound like I think I'm a veteran here! lol) ! In all honesty, though, it takes practice. I practice my script every single day before I pick up the phone. I walk around the house doing chores, talking to myself about the benefits or the business opportunity (yes I know, I sound like a nutjob!), and it eventually just comes second nature.

Before you can start approaching just random people, you have to have confidence in yourself, not just what you're promoting. This comes, in time, because anytime I talk to someone who says "Wow, this sounds like a fantastic opportunity but I just don't have the money right now," my confidence in myself, presentation and posture has just been uplifted and I'm ready to challenge that phone. My confidence builds as I get people excited about our company. I have not yet reached a level where I'm comfortable just handing people fliers in the street - I have a shaky voice, I'm very shy and it doesn't matter how "rehearsed" my words are, they get mumbled and jumbled when I speak with a stranger. That's why it's important to make connections with people and PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

There are so many different ways to work this business and the "harder" techniques will seem easier as you progress. Talking on the phone has gotten easier for me, though it still takes building myself up in order to reach that confidence level for the day. I'm better off talking to my friends or family - I even hate calling in pizza! But whether you choose to build your business completely online or incorporate your local market, it just takes testing the waters and seeing what you're comfortable with and what's working.

Best of luck to you

Thanks so much for the responses and Jlbear OMG I am the exact same way. I will order a pizza online before I will call it in because I'm not a phone person. Im more of an email, text person. My MIL makes i look so easy but I know she has put in a lot of work to get to where she is. I also know she would help me as much as possible but I just didnt want to disappoint her or myself.

I can most definitely relate, I'd rather text/email than call! However in this business, people want to speak with a "real" person and it often gives us more credibility this way. The more you get on that phone, though, the easier it gets! Free leads are great to practice with and there are sooooo many available out there!

The biggest tip I can give you is JUST DO IT and when you're making your calls, MAKE IT ALL ABOUT THEM and try to find a connection.

You won't let her down and I think it'd mean more to her that you give it a try, at least. Step out of your comfort zone and just get it done! You'll disappoint yourself only if you DON'T try this out and leave yourself wondering, 'What if." You'll have TONS of guidance/support/training. If you're like me (which we've already established that you are in one sense lol), you have to look at your WHY - the reason you're getting involved and working from home on a path to unlimited financial freedom, and visit that WHY every single day, if that's what keeps you motivated. All I have to do is look into my son's eyes and hear my fiancee shut and lock our apartment door to go to work and I remember that I want to give my family everything and bring my fiancee home from a job that doesn't even pay him bereavement time. Heaven forbid this family go through anymore losses anytime soon, I want us to be able to take the time we need away from working without worrying about the money.

Great advice so far as usual for this board . One thing I will add that I find the way you market may primarily be the way people contact you. I also like to market online, and if I market locally it's with community boards, leaving information at stores rather than going up to people. I find that 95% of people communicate with me online and enroll before I ever speak to them! The other 5% are people that would rather talk on the phone so of course I do that!

Now with how the FAHT works best with the request interviews (I'm pretty sure other teams have this too) I do call people first that do request an interview. I would say that I get the machine 80% of the time and actual people 20% of the time. But since I prefer to work online I contact them by email afterwards and most will communicate with me that way after I first speak with them (or their machine lol).

So if you prefer to work your business online, then do so! Most will communicate with you that way. Hopefully that will help to know that you won't have to talk with EVERYONE on the phone .
