I've been looking into what I can do from home to make some extra cash. I ran into a local with an ad for Ameriplan and did some research. I am very interested, but have had some not so great experiences with direct selling. Not because I couldn't do it. I did not mind telling or showing people product. I sold cosmetics, but the inventory grew larger than my sales all because I was trying to keep my discount and with parties, etc. it took up way too much of my time, but overall can't say it was a horrible experience. I did some jewelry selling about a year ago, when I received an email that the company folded. I couldn't fill any of my orders, had to cancel scheduled parties, and then couldn't sell unless I applied for a seller's permit, blah, blah etc. Needless to say, I lost money again and was stuck with items I didn't need or necessarily want.
Anyway, my biggest concern is that, I'm sure like others, I don't want to lose any money again. The question is, how would this be any different than the others, other than the fact that I wouldn't have to carry inventory? I did request an interview on Monday, but haven't heard anything yet. I read through some of the threads and found that it would actually benefit to interview with a few before making a decision. Any input, advice, information you can provide about joining Ameriplan would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Cynthia |

As you can see....I'm a Cynthia TOO!! ![]() I agree, I wouldn't want to lose money again either. I do hope you wrote off your business expenses when you filed your tax returns for that year. To answer your question, how are we different from other companies? The real difference I resonated with when I first decided to work this business was the fact that it provides a real service that people really need. I didn't realize it at the time, but the services we offer are REALLY important during times like these when people are looking for way to pinch pennies and are seriously cutting back on luxury purchases like jewelry and make up. Plus, we can work with people from our computer and with a phone across the country. Using the services myself and saving money made my commitment to helping others learn about our company even stronger. Even though we've helped millions of people, there are millions more that have no idea who we are and how we can help them. I agree, interview a few different leaders so that you find a mentor/coach that provides you with the connection you'll need to get your new business going. Thanks for coming to this forum to ask your questions. We're here to help!! ![]() Hugs and blessings to you, Cynthia |

You have got some great advice!!! Along with looking at different enrollers you should look at the team you will be on as well. The different teams offer different things. I am with the Freedom at Home Team which is Ameriplans largest and most succesfull. We have a great training website and tons of amazing leaders that host daily conference calls that we can jump on. There has always been someone available to me when I needed them. We also have an optional Boot Camp program that really helps you get your business into gear. All the extra training and materials our team does is of course no extra cost to you!!
So def talk to some enrollers as well as teams. You can look at my site to see some of my team members : Freedom at Home Team

I think what makes Ameriplan different than some of the rest of the companies out there ( not to say there isn't good ones), is that we all work as a team. You have so much support available to you. Like Christina Dennis mentions, I too am with The Freedom at Home Team and this team IS one of the fastest growing teams with Ameriplan. I really think that is due to the commitment this team has for not only our own success, but everyone's. This team offers an amazing training website that is pumped with so many resources to help you out in your business.
You should definitely join only with an enroller who makes you feel comfortable and that they are going to be there for you. Needless to say, no matter who you join with, there is always support available to you! Good luck! Regards, Wendy |

Thank you to all of you for such great advice. I joined with the Ameriplan Freedom at Home Team. I just started with the DWT training site. There is so much helpful information, but needless to say, I do not feel overwhelmed. I'm taking it one step at a time.
Thanks again to all. |
