Default Networking to get referrals

In the book “The Science of getting Rich” which says when you do certain things in a certain way you will get certain results. You may have heard that sales in a numbers game.

When you look at your referrals what did you have to do to generate that referral. The book E-Myth, The Referral Engine, & Referral Flood all talk about how to turn your word of mouth marketing into a system.

When I first started my last business I made a list of 11 people that I knew not with the intent to sell them but to network with them. By showing them my new business and asking if they know anyone who would be the perfect customer for my new business?

I originally called 11 people and made 8 referrals and 8 sales.

I have used this approach with a number of my students who average a 20% referral ration and 10% closing ratio. So this is one way to track your word of mouth advertising.

Chris,

This is an excellent idea! Although I prefer to get my business through
online methods rather than prospecting to those I know. I can see how this
is a great way to get our business in front of people without trying to
"sell them."

Are you just rewriting and condensing what others are typing? If you need the practice that's cool, but it's a little annoying. Maybe you could practice in a Word doc., and contribute your real thoughts to these discussions I'd like to hear your thoughts, not other's reworded.

Networking can be done anywhere online or offline. Gary Vee says Twitter is a word of mouth advertising tool

Well that makes sense. It is a form of word of mouth I think that's a good way to look at Twitter, and Facebook. When you look at it that way, it's easier to think of what you should do with it. After all most people have a basic knowledge of how word of mouth works. I think honesty, and regular natural interaction are key. Just like you would with people you talked to in person. Thanks for putting it in a less intimidating light for me
