Default What is your favorite keyword research tool?

I'm sure many of you use keyword research tools to help with your affiliate marketing niches. Just wondering what you use to find your keywords and why did you choose that one?

I sometimes will use google's basic keyword tool, but I think it is not very accurate. To be honest, I just try to think off the top of my head what someone would search for for the particular post or page I'm creating, then I target that phrase. It might sound silly and not be too scientific, but it works. I think a lot of people over analyze and over think keyword research. But it works for me

I use Google's adword keyword tool. I also liked Market Samurai but the software takes too long to operate so I don't use it.

I use Google Adwords Tool and Market Samurai.

Market Samurai has several modules but the Keyword Research tool is totally free (not just a trial of it).

You can learn more about Market Samurai and get a Free download of the Keyword Research Tool in my article at my website.

There is a link to the Free Research Tool in my signature below.

I use Wordtracker (both the free and paid versions) and have been using it for over 3 years. Good program and I like it because I can use it anywhere, it's accessible via the web which is nice when you are traveling, working away from home, etc. No software download needed.

And keyword research and SEO IS very important when it comes to your affiliate marketing business so I would not recommend playing the guessing game. Keyword research and SEO is good because you are giving real people exactly what they are looking for.

I guess if some don't care about making money then it's not necessary to do any research but I'll assume most want to have a successful affiliate marketing business since you're posting here

More than two years I have used the Wordtracker keyword tool, however after the launch of Keyword Difficulty tool and SERP Analysis tool by SEOMoz, I have started using them. I am glad to say that these tools are the most efficient and effective tools to perform a keyword research.

Default Adwords Keyword tool Useful tip

Google Adwors is the best keyword tool but I advise you not to forget to tick the [exact] option before you make any search. If you don't do this, the results will not help you at all. For example for the keyword "online internet job" Google says that they are 40.000 monthly searches but in fact the monthly searches are only 182. Only if you tick the "exact" option Google gives you the number of searches that the keyword has. Be careful !
