I like to use Hub Pages, Ezine articles and Stumble Upon (bookmarking site). These sites all send actual traffic to my site, not just backlinks.

Want your profit to soar, try to get your website on top of the SERP for some keywords that generate a total of 50,000 unique visitors monthly and direct them to your opt in page. List building has been a substantial part of my marketing strategy. The result are awesome.

I think one good way of generating quality targeted traffic is building a relationship and rapport with others in the same industry/niche as you. I think over time this basic step has become over looked.
IMO having 100 people visiting my site who are actually looking for what I have to offer is better than just having thousands of random visitors, especially when they just want to drop links. |

A good way to measure how many inbound links you may need is to look at the other sites that are on the 1st page for the keyword that you would like to rank for. You can do this a number of ways: 1. Here is a free backlink checker tool. I also use the results of my competition to see if I can get links from the same people ==> Backlink Checker 2. Using Yahoo's Site Explorer does the same ==>https://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/mysites 3. To get an overall idea of how easy or difficult it may be to get on the 1st page of Google for a particular keyword I use Cherry Picker (Free - No Opt-In), Ryan D. and his team are great! ==> Cherry Picker Software From there you will know how much link building and how much work will need to be done to get to the 1st page and stay there. Organic is the best, but it sure does take a lot of work depending on the keyword...well unless you have the money to outsource. Hope that helps. |

Choosing the right keywords is the first step in the process. In my own experience I have found it easier to target smaller keywords with less traffic and competition first and get ranked for those and then pursue the more competitive keywords. There are some people that claim that backlinks don't matter anymore but I have not seen any proof of this. For me, I will continue to get backlinks with the proper keyword anchor text and that is how I plan on ranking on page 1 for my keywords. For anyone who is new to this all. It does take time and you will get frustrated but keep plugging away and putting work in and you will start to see results from your hard work. Whenever I am down, I like to look at different blogs that have real success stories. (Not talking about so-called gurus, who claim they make $10 million a year). If you don't want to pay for any keyword tools (which you absolutely don't have to), I simply recommend that you check out Google Adwords tool https://adwords.google.com/select/Ke...rceLegacy=true. I also like the SEO book tools that are free to use and can help you with keywords as well as looking at your competition. Free SEO Tools & Search Engine Optimization Software |
