I'm very new to affiliate marketing. I've been researching here and on warrior forums. I understand key words, niches, SEO etc. What I don't understand is what to do with the information once you find something. Let's say for example I want to use "weight loss" as my primary focus. Let's say I have further researched and I narrowed it down to "weight loss surgery" (I'm assuming this would be my niche). How do I promote that? Do I start a blog about it? Once I get my blog about weight loss surgery, how do I make money off of it? Do I put products on it from clickbank etc? Do I create an ebook about it and sell the book from a mini site? I'm only using weight loss as an example.

Once you have a product you need a pre-sell page, often a review. If you're doing a blog, I suggest you set up a static page with a review and use the blog to post information and comment on the subject with occasional references to your review. Don't try and sell in the blog. Also perhaps run a discreet ad in the sidebar. I would also collect email addresses as you can sell other related products to people who have been interested in your product.
You then need to go out and promote your blog... :-) |

I rarely start with a keyword, I usually start with a need.
So for you, the need that someone out there has is to learn about and perhaps have weight loss surgery done. The issue for you now is to see if there are products out there that you can recommend to them and earn a commission from. If there are several good products or services to promote and you feel good about them, yes, I would start a blog and begin writing for your market and eventually make relevant recommendations about the products Reviews, opinions, etc. You'll have to get out there and rub elbows with your market via social media, and do some more work to build links to your blog. If you're interested in learning more, I recommend my course: Blog Internship
