I decided using simple blogging software, these days, could produce the same outcome that I wanted in a lot less time
Yuliya, so then I guess you desired outcome was just to have a web presence. If so, like I said before, free blogs are the way to go.

SBI is for building an online business, not just a site. It's a solid system for generating free traffic - it's a set it and forget it model. Even during those couple of years that I completely abandoned my site, the traffic kept snowballing, growing. Compare that to "traditional" traffic building methods (social networking, ppc, article marketing, etc) - once you stop, the traffic pretty much stops as well.

And as far as the "expensiveness" of SBI - to me, they seriously undercharge for all the tools, education and support they provide. Heck, you can flush that $300 down the PPC toilet in a single day!

Most conventional internet marketers don't succeed with SBI, because SBI requires a different kind of attitude/mindset. We can argue about it, but most marketers are suckers for the Get Rich Quick stuff, magic bullet and instant gratification (with the exception of a few who really know what they are doing - but then again, SBI is targeted at beginners, not pros).

Internet marketers are fixated on generating income, while SBIers also build equity in addition to making money/generating cashflow. To me, the latter is a viable business model, the former is a rat race.

And as far as needing to know html or css, that's the whole point of using SBI - you don't need to know any of that stuff (they have a block builder for us non-techies).

I don't have any affiliate links for SBI in my post or on my site either - I'm just one happy gal who is trying to share her experience. So it's up to you what you do with this info.

Yelena

P.S. Yuliya, it's not directed at you, because obviously you have an off-line business model and don't need SBI
P.P.S. Jana's comments is another non-working link, but maybe it's tied to the forum as well?

Yes - thanks: it links to a forum-post there.

I am using Site Build It.

Just purchased it a few weeks ago ( I chose the $29 per month option)

It is well worth it.

Not only does it teach you how to pick a good niche (analyzes what the market is looking for using a special tool called Brainstorming, it also explain keywords, their importance, how to monetize using adsense and all the info you need to market online.

I know a few people making over 5K per month and their sites were built using Site Sell.

I would say go for it!

It's funny because you guys really don't know what you are talking about... sorry but I just don't know a better way to break it to you, LOL!

Some of the things I see online about SBI are ridiculous - there's maybe 10% of truth, and the rest is complete nonsense - I am curious as to where all this disinformation comes from?

SiteSell revolutionized the entire industry, pioneered a lot of what internet companies are doing/copying today, and they are still cutting edge - constantly evolving and ahead of everyone. So there goes your "outdated" myth.

And it's not just about building a site - if web presence is all you need, then I agree you don't need SBI. But if you actually want to be found online when people search for your products/services, then SBI is the only way to go for a newbie/non-techie person.

Heck, even a lot of programmers choose SBI - because it takes care of all the technical stuff, and lets people focus on more important things (content and product creation, etc).

Mine is an SBI site: [link removed by mod] - I started it with ZERO knowledge of how to build a site. I initially built it to promote our local house painting company. But now it grew into something bigger - over 1,000 unique daily visitors and a very nice passive income stream (plus free daily leads for our physical business). And I've been working on my site - really working - just for the past 6 months or so.

My traffic and income is growing every month (my target is 5,000 daily uniques by the end of this year) - and I'm just scratching the surface when it comes to my site's potential! Oh, and I've used only maybe 30% of SBI's resources. I have no idea what "limits" people are talking about!

I'm sure I too sound like a "cult member" and I really don't care, I take it as a complement. I have a firsthand experience of using this business-building system with great success. I swear by it.

I just had to share!

Great site Yelena!

Just started using it and I cannot explain the value that they offer.

Yes the course is intense but hey I am learning things that I did not know and can't wait to launch my first site.

Thanks for the inspiration.

I think Ken Evoy is a genius!
