I think Laura made a great response to this question on what exactly a niche is (the first response to the topic submitter). I like how she pointed out that "guitars" would not exactly be a niche as it is too broad, because this is very true in my opinion.

Something like "Left Handed Wes Paul Guitars" would be a niche that included guitars though.

Hopefully you have a better understanding of what a niche is now!

Hello Friends......

#First, realize that having a niche does not mean you're not diversified. Being someone who's a major fan of multiple streams of income, the idea of having a niche first made me think I'd have to let a lot fall by the wayside. A lot of times you can combine several related interests into something that is unique and solves a particular problem. It's having focus and an overall goal that will make you more money long-term.
#Having a niche allows you to be the "go to" man or woman in a particular area. Using my own life as an example, if I put my name on a business card or brochure with writer, video editor, photographer, videographer, watercolor painter, Amazon used book seller, website owner, and on and on--it would fall victim to the Jack (in my case Jill)-of-all-trades and master of none effect.

Thanks

What I use sometimes to find targeted niches is amazon.

I go there and pick an apartment Health for example.
Then I pick a catagory like allergy.
Last a niche like sinus medicine.

You can use a site like amazon to find all kinds of problems and solutions.

Best of luck,

You need to do keyword research to see if the keywords related to that niche are highly searched and have competition that's not too crazy high. I mostly use Google's keyword tool:

I'm glad to see this thread.

I have a niche. I have the keywords, and I already have traffic coming from a variety of keywords and subscribers.

Now I'm just trying to find the right affiliate products to offer, and I got help on another thread with that. (Which I appreciate.)
