Default I took the leap and created affiliate

An affiliate program for my writing fiction 101 ecourse, that is. I used e-junkie for now. Once I get paid next week, I'm going to set up one through clickbank. I'm so excited. I'm offering 50% for my affiliates. I heard that's a good percentage. Hope so.

Good on ya :-)

Hmm.. 50%

What else are you offering your affiliates to convince them to promote for you, rather than someone else/product?

And what do you see as being your USP on your product?

Good luck with it!

Just a suggestion, but it might help (maybe even a lot!) to take the "join our affiliate program" link off the sales page.

I know that with Clickbank affiliate sales (I realise this is e-junkie but I think the principle may be the same) many affiliates won't promote a product with this kind of link and a vendor's opt-in so visibly available from the sales page for the obvious reason that (rightly or wrongly) they fear getting cut out of the commission loop if their prospects see that before paying and are in direct contact with the vendor. It makes what affiliates refer to as a "leaky sales page".

The thing with affiliates, it seems to me, is that in order to be able to attract them to promoting your product, you have to take all the most obvious "potential worries" away because there are so many thousands of other products they can choose to promote instead. Otherwise I suspect it won't be easy at all.

I don't have a link for affiliates on my sales page. It's on the ejunkie page in the marketplace but not on the page that potential customers go to.
But thanks for the input.

What types of things are good motivators besides the 50%?

I know this sounds risky, but I suggest giving your affiliates a day or two where they will earn 100% commission. This will make them more eager to promote your product and help spread the word a little quicker. I guarantee you will be paid back substantially for your sacrifice.

Anything that will assist your affiliates to promote and make sales - flash pages, banners, emails, articles, training - esp training

Most, newbie, affiliates fail due to lack of training, mentoring, personal development and failing to keep their eye on the ball until the game is won.

Do what I do, help them overcome these challenges and, assuming your product is excellent you should do well.

Vrodpen, when she only has one product to sell and no upsell options - it doesn't make any sense to offer 100% commission. Wouldn't you agree?
