Here are three proven strategies for every affiliate marketer.

1. Using Pay Per Click advertising - It allows you to target specific customers based on certain keywords that they type into the search engines. To maximize your ppc campaign make sure that you have done your research and also obtain some affiliate marketing training which can be obtained online.

2. Blogging - Create an informational blog about your product or niche. Provide valuable information and not just sales pitches on your blogs. And update your blog every frequently.

3. Video Marketing - Videos are taking the internet marketing realm to a whole new level. Everyone is making videos now. It is a great marketing tool and fun as well.

PPC is a really effective way to drive traffic but you have to really check your thing. As wtaylorhi said you need to do a really good research, your competitor and keyword. Also you will need to check if it is worth it. Do this little calculation:

(Targeted clicks x conversion of affiliate product x commision) - (Targeted clicks x Cost per click) = Your profits

If your not making any profits, do not even bother promoting that product through PPC.

I would say that the majority of affiliate marketers claim that article marketing is their favorite means of generating free traffic.

I'm a big fan of article marketing. I don't think anything else works as fast or consistently as article marketing.

I really recommend either automating it or outsourcing it. Submitting the same article to 300 or 400 directories can take you days.
