Thanks for posting everyone..... I am just beginning this journey and realize that it takes work and commitment~nothing overnight. Just reading about the success of others is a big boost!

I've been working from home writing web content and throwing in a few niche sites with adsense and affiliate marketing. I'm noticing, though that my niche sites are really making good money. I'm trying to start a new one every 6-8 weeks, and it's really paying off. I'm looking forward to the day when I don't HAVE to write for other people's sites in order to pay the bills.

I started in December of 2007 and my passive/residual income is almost enough to survive on (but I don't just wanna survive

I quit my day job in 2007 but I didn't do so until I was sure that I could survive on my internet marketing alone. I don't recommend anyone quit their day job on impulse as this making money online gig takes time, self education, and dedication.

If I was a Southern Baptist type, instead of a Southern New Zealand type, I'd say "hallelujah!!" to that.

The facts are:

Of those who have been working online between 6 months and 2 years...

Over 80% make less than $500 a month
Over 50% make nothing, zero, zilch, nada, not a penny, not one brass razoo, not ......

Dismal, but that's human nature at play. For those who do dedicate themselves to the task - 'until' - I can report that personal and financial freedom is worth the price!.

(Actually - it's worth any! price)

Hi,
Affiliate Marketing is itself a full time job you certainly don't need to do anything else after
doing this.I have earned a lot of money and still making a handsome amount of money that
fulfills a lot more than my regular needs.I recommend others to do affiliate marketing program its so much worthwhile.

Thanks...

There's a big learning curve if you are new to it. My best recommendation is to learn everything you can about it and don't buy anything until you have searched the internet high and low.

Many people sell stuff that is freely available online.

Full time job Terry? Whys that, it certainly isn't for me. Are you outsourcing the routine, and time consuming aspects?

Hi Norene - sounds like you have been doing well at this. I'm new to it too so any advice about fast-tracking would be welcomed. How many hours do you spend online?

It's hard in the beginning. Just make sure you start a site that you're passionate about. Don't just make a site and throw a bunch of links on it. Right now my main website is a weigh loss site that is documenting my progress in losing a lot of weight. In the U.S. it's already ranked in the 300,00's by Alexa.com. I post frequently and actually cover a lot of things in depth. Any income I am making is through adsense since I'm still researching some good Affiliate ads. Also, I finally broke down and am having someone design my site for me. Then I plan to market it more. Just keep going at this part time and hopefully some day you'll be able to "retire" from nursing. I'm sure it will be a great feeling! I can't wait. My goal is by August of 2010 when my son starts Kindergarten.

Tawny, do you realize you can do great at affiliate marketing just using WordPress, or even with a good lens on Squidoo - I make about $50 a day off just one lens - why spend your time and money on, presumably, very professional websites?

Time that may be better used on promotion and SEO.
