I think the decision what to use : automatic submission tools or submit your articles manually one by one,depends on what are you trying to achieve.
- if you need tons of backlinks and fast > then use automation, but spin your article first.
- If you need a targeted traffic, then write a really good article and promote it.
Though the thing about backlinks is > if you have few good ones, they count more then tons of just any links.
