From time to time, site are created that are texr chat based. These sites are not as widespread as LP is however. I think the Dvine Angels post from sometime in Dec. is an example of one of these text chat sites. They are looking to start opening in Jan/Feb 2010. For my personal opinion, I'd stay with LP because they have that exposure and drive thousands of people to them.
