While I empathize with CNJ's reaction to Tom's phrasing, it is quite true that most writing jobs don't pay anything at all for a unique sample of work, even if the do like it.

I will say that my empathy went out the window with the above statement though. Everyone needs work, men and women alike. Everyone has bills, obligations and expenses.

To say one sex needs work more than another is beyond simple minded.

If you ask me, these jobs mean more to:
-Single parents who can't afford child care to work outside the home,
-Single income families that are struggling because one parent can't work due to child care costs,
-Those who are disabled and unable to work outside the home,
-Individuals who can't find work in their town because they are in school and being turned away because of schedule conflicts.

None of that has any gender requirements though now does it...


I typically don't get heated when it comes to forums, but seriously - wow.
