Vegetable proteins are good, (peanut butter, nuts, legumes, etc.), even excellent, sources of protein, but it seems as though we need an extra boost of iron - hence we are an omnivorous species. The yolk might be 'yucky' (my son likes it with salt - hates the whites), but undeniably the healthiest part.

As long as a child's appetite is healthy and diet is relatively varied - the parents shouldn't be too worried.
