I also hear it all the time in the context of MLM and things pretending to be MLM ("go figure"!).
I completely and unreservedly accept that it's much better to be enthusiastic/passionate about your work/business than not to be enthusiastic/passionate about it. But to base
which business you choose around that rather than on around whether it's an intrinsically viable business model to start with is, well ... let's be super-tactful and just say that it's "not exactly optimal"!
